The Blame Game

Could Toadie be involved in the cowardly homophobic attack on Chris?

After Ramsay Street is rocked by the bashing of Chris, one of our favourite residents finds himself the number one suspect during the soap's final week of 2011. "Something has happened and Toadie's law firm is involved," Ryan Moloney, who plays the legal eagle, tells TV WEEK. "But I don't want to say either way because that will blow it out of the water." After Lucas rules out the possibility that homophobic customer Warren Burrell is responsible for the attack on his staff member, he turns his suspicions to lawyer and pal Toadie. With Toadie working for solicitor Peter Noonan - their law firm represents the controversial shopping centre development - Lucas believes the duo are somehow involved when he catches one of Peter's flunkies on the security footage around the time of the attack. Despite Toadie assuring him the man no longer works for Peter, a flabbergasted Lucas later spies him in Peter's office! And this isn't the first time Lucas has had trouble trusting Toadie - the garage was recently sabotaged, thus failing a suspiciously impromptu safety inspection. "Toadie has gone to any lengths to get this development pushed through," Ryan explains. "People above him have been pushing him above and beyond what he thought he'd ever do. Chris is a lovely guy and Toadie's upset at possibly being found to be involved."

Due to his association with the development, Toadie hasn't exactly been Erinsborough's favourite person for the past few months, with this latest incident appearing to spell the end of his friendship with Lucas - especially considering Peter told Toadie he needs to convince Lucas to sell his garage in order for the development to go through. Toadie's unusually ruthless behaviour, however, has all been for the sake of protecting his family. "He's stuck between a rock and a hard place in that if he loses his job, the development will still probably go through and Sonya's business will probably go under from it," explains Ryan. "Whereas if he keeps his job and Sonya's business goes under, then they're at least bringing some money in." But just how far will Toadie go to keep his job?

Drowning in secrets!

In a touching moment this week, Michael takes Tash to the beach where Helena drowned in order to allow the teen to farewell her mother. "It's kind of saying goodbye," says Valentina Novakovic, who plays Tash. "It's really letting go of that part of her life. It's quite an emotional time." Accompanying Tash is dad Michael and her Aunt Emilia, who are both on hand to lend support to the upset teenager. "They're the two closest things to her mum," Valentina explains. "She likes that Emilia is there, but Michael is a bit funny about it." Behind the poignant scenes, however, another secret about Helena's death is unravelling - and it will rock Tash to her core. "It's something to do with the day her mother died, and there's a reason why her dad couldn't save them both," Valentina hints. "He couldn't save them both because he was too late getting there - and it's the reasoning behind that. It's very shocking and juicy!" With Tash already having been forced to deal with the shock of finding out her dad lied to her about her mum's death, how will she cope when another secret is exposed?

Jade flees Ramsay Street!

Shunned by her on-off lover, Kyle, in the wake of revelations she had an affair with Mal, Jade makes the stunning decision to leave Ramsay Street! "He's pretty upset," explains Gemma Pranita, who plays Jade. "Kyle doesn't solely blame Jade, but he's really hurt and mad." So mad, in fact, that during a confrontation with Mal, Kyle lashes out and punches him! But despite Jade's efforts to convince Kyle the affair was a mistake and it's him she really loves, Kyle pushes her away. Feeling humiliated, Jade decides it's best for everyone if she leaves Erinsborough. Will Kyle change his mind and go after her before it's too late?

Thanks to Carly @Neighbours Fans.

Edit: Removing spoiler tags, as it has now been aired in Australia.

At last Sonya is now flying solo in the credits at the beginning of the show. I was wondering how long it would take for them to remove Libby from the credits.

Good to see Kyle back in Ramsay Street and sharing a scene with Dane. Kudos to the casting department for the Canning cousins, they are so realistic!

I was hoping that we'd see the last of Toadie's boss... it was a nice break from him whilst it lasted. :P
