Ive just read throught this entire thread, and you've all missed tow of the best shows ever......

David The Knome and another one called Gumby.

A lot of you probably wOuldn't remember David The Knome, coz it was on when i was only little; so like 15+ years ago. LOL. Basically it was just about this Knome named David. And i remember when the last episode aired, everyone in my town went nuts and cried. LOL. aLL THE Knomes died and their sprirts went into trees. I still have a bloody VHS of it too.

And of course Gumby. I loved Pokie though.

I also liked Adventures of Tin Tin, and Wayne's World. lol.

Can't forget the Care Bears. And the orignal ones; the new car bear dvd's are crap. lol.

Ok, slightly random but I'm looking for anyone who has heard of this show.

According to my mum she used to watch it with me when I was a little kid (so around 1990) but the show probably began well before this. It was a British children's program (aired here on the ABC) about a farmer. He apparently used to go into the city leaving the farm with it's talking scarecrows and crows that sat on a wire and told jokes. I don't remember it but mum swears this is what it was about. She also think it was called something Farm.

I know it's not a lot to go by, but if someone could shed some light it would be great. :)

And the end of another era comes:

Hit Entertainment has appointed Bafta-nominated producer Marion Edwards to oversee the CGI relaunches of the likes of Bob the Builder and Thomas & Friends.

Edwards has been handed the new role of vice president of current programming and will be responsible for production of all of Hit's established children's TV shows. As well as Bob and Thomas, Fireman Sam and Angelina Ballerina will be made in CGI next year.

Edwards will sit alongside Chris Rose, who joined last month as programming and development director with responsibility for the company's slate of new -properties.

"Our focus is on strengthening the existing programming slate as well as building new brands," said Lenora Hume, executive vice-president of global production and programming.

"We had a stable of producers working on both development and current programming and we have shifted focus slightlyÉ to ensure both areas get the attention they need."

Edwards has already been working with Hit for six months as a consultant with Red & Blue Productions, the animation consultancy she founded in 2004.

Prior to that, she was managing director and executive producer at Telemagination, where she was nominated for Baftas for Pongwiffy and The Last Polar Bears.

Edwards will take up her new role next month and will report to Hume.

Her former colleague at Red & Blue, Lisa Pacheco, will also join Hit as a producer.

Its just getting ridiculous now, it will get to the stage when every kids show is made on computers rather than putting effort into proper animation. Thats one of the things that made Thomas so unique, the amount of work put into those models and the fantastic sets (I'm talking back in the day when I used to watch Thomas as opposed to the stuff they put out now :P).

Very very sad.

I didn't know this thread existed!

My absolute favourite show when I was younger was The Animals of Farthing Wood! It was pretty brutal, but I just loved it! I watched all three seasons on YouTube recently...I felt so nostalgic! :P

Johnson & Friends...made me believe that all my toys came alive. :)

The Ferals as well! :D

Youtube has Animals of Farthing Wood!?

That show was awesome. Such gritty realism for talking cartoon animals. Every week another cute and lovable character was killed horribly... I still see the mice strung up on the thorns sometimes... *shiver.*

And always the rabbits saying, "Don't panic!" How could they not with the constant shadow of death hanging over them!?

Excellent show, that. Wasn't as good when they got to White Deer Park, but it wasn't bad.

It does! Find it here: http://www.youtube.com/user/aofw

The first and second season were great, but I thought that the third season was...pretty bad!

Even so, watching the final of it made me tear up!

Same here. I still remeber Mr and Mrs Hedgehog dying :(. Now that was brutal - Mrs Hedgehog refusing to leave her husband after he roled up on the road, and then the truck... And owl or adder saying that they deserved it :(

The pheasants were pretty bad too... the female getting shot, and then the male - who was always horrible to her - going back to find her... and... my mind blocks out the rest, but I assume he was killed too...

Badger was sad near the end... thinking it was Molie... :(
