Meeting net buddies for real

I've met up with a couple of people from the net and it turned out okay. It was all in a very public place and we were actually at a in-store appearence of the person that the forum was about (who shall remain nameless because it's embarrasing :P) so it felt pretty safe.

I have a blog, and I would feel fine with meeting people I've friended from there, only because they talk about their personal lives so much I feel as if I know them! :P

We actually and by we I mean a number of the moderators, were very good friends with somebody on here but when one of us got hold of their bebo pagew it became clear that we'd been lied to for several years over pretty big stuff. That's the preoblem with meeting people over the internet.

*shudders* I still find that really freaky... That's why I need pictures and msn/facebook/myspace because without those, I feel like I could be talking to a bald fifty-year old bloke who wears a batman t-shirt.

I don't think I'd have the courage to meet up with people here. I could definitely trust some of them, but I wouldn't be able to actually go to X point and meet them. I'd find it really difficult

Aw Cal, I wouldn't hurt you. As long as Andy isn't with me... That boy brings out the worst in me. I can understand why you'd be nervous

I find Myspace and Facebook to be too invasive, not with strangers, because who cares about people I don't know, but with all these people from school I've added who I haven't seen or spoken to in years, and now they're all gawking at my dull, grey little life like they're still a part of it. It's weird. Plus I'm not entirely keen on my various circles of friends mixing with each other. I have varying tastes and my friends reflect that. I'm not ashamed of anyone or anything like that, it just feels awkward knowing that all these different kinds of people are looking at each other through my Facebook page thinking "What the?"

I've met a couple of people in person, and exchanged addresses with a few others. I tend to trust most people I talk to, and I haven't been bitten yet *touch wood.* Oh, I have once (bitch stole my H&A tape ) but nothing serious. I wouldn't meet anyone in person on my own. I didn't even meet Dan F on my own :P

The whole ordeal with her still makes my blood boil......Grrrr. Although, in hindsight, it probably made us a bit closer! She's still a moron though!

I have meet some of my net friends and one off them is a really close friend of me now, For many years ago I was in a fanclub and asked for pen pals and left my adress and phone number, 2 girls sent me txt messages and since then they have been my closest best friends :)

I also found my boyfrind through a former friend, she gave him my phone number and after months of beeing friends we became a couple and have been together for soon 2 1/2 years and we are going to move in together next spring.
