Bear with me... I had an overdose of Homer and Virgil the last couple of days hence why the reference. And, it sounds so wrong but... who cares? :P

Seeing him there made her emotional. She didn’t even know what she was going to do. She wanted so badly to tell him the truth. To tell him that ‘she’ was still alive. Yet, her sense of obligation to her friend weighed heavily on her shoulders. Telling Peter would mean all hell breaking loose. It would be like when Aelous, King of the Winds, letting go of the winds, on Juno’s behalf to cause destruction amongst the Trojan ships. Yet, if she kept her mouth shut, he would be reining them in shackles. She looked at Peter in the eyes and saw his look of concern. She turned away.

P/S: Alli, I'm not complaining :D

Thanks Andy, Alli and Shannon. :) More teasers for you because I'm nice and because when the chapter goes up, you'll have to wait ages for the next one

Peter Baker was a patient man. That is, until he encountered Zoë McCallister. Or Eve Jacobsen. Whichever one she went with. Either way, that woman was the one woman who rattled him. And he was glad that she was dead. Now, the problem was to figure out what was wrong with his best friend.

“I don’t know. I mean, the doctor did say that they could suffer from memory loss. So, who knows.... it would be great if she could at least remember bits and pieces of it. We can just slowly piece it all into one piece.”

“I’m sure Pete will be able to get some things from her. He has a way for getting information.”

Enjoy :D

Nice long chapter for you guys to enjoy. Have fun. :)

Chapter 8:

As soon as she said those words, Tracey laid back and sighed. She didn’t even know what she was going to do. She had no idea how to tell Peter what happened. Truth be told, she wasn’t even sure what happened. She couldn’t look Peter in the eye so she decided to shut them.

Peter saw her close her eyes when he came back with the chair. He knew that she was trying to make sense of what happened to tell him. He didn’t push her. He wanted her to tell him when she was ready. And he was willing to sit here all day just to wait for her.

She opened her mouth to start but nothing came out of it. Peter held her hand and said,

“It’s okay, Trace. Take your time. Take all the time in the world. I’m here."

‘How am I meant to tell him?’ she thought to herself and sighed.

All this while, he looked on at her in concern. He could see the dilemma that she was facing as to whether or not to tell him and deep down; he suspected that all was not right in the world of Tracey Thompson. He wanted to find out further as to what happened. He knew that for Tracey to hesitate meant that she was deliberating on whether or not to tell him the truth or lie to him. And he knew that she could never lie to him. She was a bad liar when it came to him.

“Trace?”

“I’m sorry... I- I just... I....”

“You what?”

To that reply, the taps opened and she burst into sobs. He could tell that he had made her upset and that was the last thing that he had ever wanted to come out of this. He looked and sighed and let her cry on his shoulder. ‘Perhaps, after that crying, she’ll feel better and tell me what happened.’

Meanwhile, Murphy and Clare were walking towards the car part and discussing the latest developments in the case.

“Well, it’s a good sign that Tracey’s awake. Do you think that she’ll be able to remember what

happened?”

“I don’t know. I mean, the doctor did say that they could suffer from memory loss. So, who knows.... it would be great if she could at least remember bits and pieces of it. We can just

slowly piece it all into one piece.”

“I’m sure Pete will be able to get some things from her. He has a way for getting information.”

“Oh yes, somehow, he has the patience to do that kind of thing.”

“Right, I’ll meet you back at the station and we’ll discuss the case there. Hopefully your boy will have some good news.”

“Let’s hope so.”

Unbeknownst to them both, someone had heard them. Someone who was now worried. Worried that perhaps Tracey would tell everything. That would mean her plans going up in flames. A part of her was glad that Tracey was alive but a part of her was hoping that she wouldn’t remember anything. Yet, she couldn’t go to the room because Peter Baker was there. If she went, surely her cover would be blown. So she stayed there, hidden, until she saw Peter Baker walk out of the hospital and headed towards his car.

Peter Baker sat in his car and let out a sigh. His morning had been interrupted by good news yet it didn’t feel like it. Sure, he was glad that Tracey was alive but he was frustrated at the fact that she would not tell him what had happened. He knew that she had some inkling of what had happened that had caused the accident. He knew that she was not telling him something and that irked him to no end.

He knew that when Tracey clammed up, there was nothing that he could say or do to make her open up. What he did not understand was why she was being so quiet about an accident that had nearly caused her her life. ‘Maybe she’s just worried about Rachel. Maybe when Rachel wakes up-if she wakes up- they can both talk.’ Still, he was rather annoyed at getting no where near the truth than yesterday. He let out another heavy sigh and revved the engine and headed towards the station. It was going to be a long day ahead.

Tracey sat on her bed thinking about the events of the past few days. It had all happened so fast. She had no idea that things would’ve come to this. Telling Peter about Eve had been a huge deal for her. Especially, when she had practically tortured the poor man and made him miserable for a few months.

Tracey sighed to herself. She knew that Peter would never let it go. He would want to know why she did what she did. She wanted so badly to tell Peter. After all, they were good friends and she knew about his life more than his family. To say the least, Peter Baker was the only man in her life that Tracey trusted the most. She knew that telling Peter would ruin everything. ‘Maybe if I tell him, he might understand. Understand why I did what I did.’ Tracey couldn’t help but think about the emails he had sent her when he was working on the ‘Stalker Case.’ She knew that it had taken a toll on him and when it was finally over, he had felt relieved. Thus, she hesitated. She didn’t know how he was going to take it.

Telling him that his arch nemesis was still alive would cause him to go into a fit. Heck, even die of shock. And she didn’t want to be the one to explain to Clare why her boyfriend had dropped dead suddenly. She wasn’t one to cross Clare Brody. She took a deep breath and exhaled it slowly. As she did so, she looked towards Rachel. Rachel was still in a coma of sorts. She hoped that she would wake up soon because Tracey needed her. They hadn’t exactly discussed their so called plan of action. Neither one of them knew what they were going to do about it all. Suddenly, things just seemed so complicated.

It made her wish that she hadn’t known Eve at all. Life would’ve been much more easier that way. At least then she could just tell Peter everything and end this whole mess. At least then she could have Eve arrested and not have to worry about a guilty conscience over turning over a friend. Correction: a sister. Tracey was torn. Turn in a family member or lie to a good friend and let a potentially dangerous fugitive loose in the world to cause damage. She was wrestling with this thought and she didn’t hear the door open.

“Hey, Trace...”

“You!?!”

Preview: Will Tracey tell Peter the truth? What does Eve really have planned for Tracey and Rachel? Will Peter be able to figure out the truth?

Yay! It's finally back! And so are you! Did I mention 'YAY!' at all? :D

That was just the Stalker dose I needed, thanking you now. It was also awesome! I can't wait to find out when Peter realizes that Zoe's still alive and what her revenge is!

Update soon!
