Roccoluver Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 Martha smiled slightly as she sat down next to Rocco on the bed. “I just want to be alone” “I don’t think you do” Rocco turned teary eyed to Martha, who frowned at his sad look. She opened her arms. “Come here, it’s going to be okay” “How could Sally do this” “I don’t know but I’m sure she has a reason”. The door creaked opened and Brad walked in solemn looking. “What’s wrong?” Martha asked. “It’s Sal” “What’s wrong?” Martha repeated “Johnny’s just taken her to hospital” “Surprise” Rocco said glumly. “Come on. Let getting going, we don’t want Johnny to be the first person she sees or we may never get her back.” Johnny sat in the waiting room, frowning as Brad and co walked over. Brad grabbed Johnny by the collar and pulled him out of his seat. “WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER!” “I didn’t do nothing” “You asshole, if it wasn’t for you she wouldn’t be here” “Brad!” Rachel shouted out pulling her older brother off Johnny. “You should watch you temper, mate” Brad glared at him, Ric stood patiently for a reason to hit some one and Cassie, Martha and Rocco stood quietly behind Ric. “You should go, Sally needs to be with her family” Ric said firmly. “Oh yes, what a family. Kicking her out because of who she sleeps with” Ric lunged forward, Cassie grabbing the back of his shirt in the nick of time to stop him hitting Johnny. Rachel sighed. “Ric, Brad I will have to ask you to leave” “What why?” Brad turned to Rachel, red faced and angry. “Who two are causing a disturbance” “What he’s the one who’s causing all the trouble” Ric shouted, tugging at Cassie hold. “All I see is you trying to attack Johnny” Rachel said, pointing out the facts. “But you know us…” Brad started. “I know, which is why I’m sending you out now before Johnny has you up for assault” “This is bull****” Ric said as Cassie dragged him out, Martha glared at Rachel. “How could you”.

Johnny softly strokes over Sally's hand as he listens to the beeping of the machine. "Come on, Sal. Now would be a good time to wake up." He lets his head hang, wondering whether Brad and Ric were right. "Maybe it really is my fault. If I stayed away from you, Sam wouldn't have gotten you. And you wouldn't have been in here." He lets his lips touch her hand for a few seconds. "Come on, Sal! Wake up." "How could Rachel chase me away like some dog? I'm her brother!" Ric nods furiously. "And Sally is my mother! Johnny has no right to be there!" "I agree with you, mate." The two men look at each other blankly. "There has to be some way we could break them up." Cassie stands up, frowning angrily. "Would you listen to yourselves?" Brad, Ric and Martha all look at her frowning. "What?" "Sally is in hospital. We don't even know whether she's going to be okay, and yet you're trying to break her up with Johnny. What if he really does make her happy?" "I can't believe you're saying that, Cassie! Johnny is the bad guy here! He's going to ruin her life!" "And what you're planning to do? Isn't that going to ruin her life? Stop being so selfish and think of Sal. That's what we should have done long ago." "Wake up, Sal. Please..." Johnny sighs, trying his best not to fall asleep. "I can't leave you when you're like this, but I need to take a shower. So can you just wake up so I can go for ten minutes and then I'll be back and we can talk?" "I'll stay with her." Johnny turns his head to look at Cassie, who is standing in the door, her eyes full of tears. "Where's the family?" "At home." She walks closer and sits down next to Johnny. "Do you really love her?" Johnny bites his lip and looks her in the eye. "I do. I didn't want to... but I do." Cassie smiles. "Well then you have my blessing. Just... make her happy." Johnny frowns at this sudden change of heart. "Why?" "She's my mum and I love her. I want her to be happy. And if that means being with you... I can live with it." "Thank you, Cassie." Cassie reaches out and squeezes Johnny's hand. "Go now. I'll be with her, I promise." Johnny finally stands up and smiles at Cassie. "If she wakes up before I'm back... just tell her that I love her." "I will." "So does this mean that I'm going to be your stepfather?" Cassie laughs. "No!" Johnny takes one last look at Sally before leaving the room. Cassie takes Sally's hand and looks at her, tears forming in her eyes. "Oh, Sal. This is not Johnny's fault. It's our fault. You would never have gone there if we didn't make you go. I'm so so sorry!"
