I was just watching the one from the other day when Gyspy has her scan, I was amazed to see that at about 2 months pregnant the baby already has completely developed fingers and facial features!

I love watching the early years. It's so good to see all the old characters.

The whole Gypsy/Will/Dani thing is interesting, Home and Away seem to love this old paternity storyline. The Kit/Kim/Rachel storyline was pretty much the same. I guess it hooks people.

I think it's completely different.

Kit came to summer bay and she immediately told Kim that she was 4 months preggers and that he was the father. They had sex while Kim was dating Rachel.

Gypsy and Will had sex whilst Will and Dani had broken up.

Gypsy spent months and months trying to hide the fact that Will was the father, whilst Kit enjoyed the fact the baby was Kim's. I dunno but in my opinion Will/Dani/Gypsy was a MUCH better love triangle...and the only thing interesting about the other one was that Rachel got depressed and slept with Hugh and then her guilt....also everyone was happy to see Gypsy back with Will. Whereas with Kit and Kim, people felt bad for Rachel :(

I have to agree with you seph.... the will/gypsy/dani love triangle was far more interesting and you felt for all three involved in this storyline... and really wanted to know what was going to happen! In the end you were happy for will and gypsy and wanted them to get together.

Whereas the kim/kit/rachel storyline was not fun to watch at all...they completely ruined all the three characters involved and it was so long and drawn out that by the end you were so not bothered what happened to any of them... in a way it was so obvious that kim would leave with kit!

The only good thing to come from this storyline was hugh  but even that was ruined when he left!!:(

The show in general is ten times better than 2006/2007 imo. That really is saying something consdering it's 2001 on at the momment - the year where the show was pretty static.

The characters in the present day (apart from Sally) have very little or no depth. It's all about the storylines. But how am I supposed to care about what happens in a storyline when I care so little for the characters? :(

Some of the episodes in this 2001 season for me are knid of boring - they are not interesting me that much now.

When I did watch them in 2001 they had me hooked! I dunno why!

also everyone was happy to see Gypsy back with Will.

I wasn't. Terrible couple and far too obvious. It's like it's illegal to have a child with someone, yet not be with them. Only in Summer Bay.

The thing i've noticed about these episodes is that they have a better balance between good drama and cheesey fun storylines, whereas today it seems to one drama after another after another in such quick succession that it's hard to be gripped by it as it's over within a couple of episodes and tends to have made no impact whatsoever.

I was actually referring to the other characters. Everyone was pleased to see them back together-Hayley, Sally, Shauna wud have been had she not already left (haha), Irene perhaps? I dunno but both Dani and Gypsy are very self-centered characters.

I agree that everyone's a bit cheesier and happier in the Fivelife episodes.....although there are some cringeworthy moments like the Alex/Brodie romance...doesn't interest me much. And Also, Sally's brief two-episode romance with Tom, what on EARTH. I think sometimes back then they threw random things into the mix....whereas now it's all about long-running story arcs.

I probs enjoyed the show a little bit more then...but i know that the show is capable of doing more moving credible stuff ..than i knew it was capable of doing back then.

I personally am looking forward to the return of Flathead.
