Lilone Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 Amanda walked away as fast as her legs could carry her. Clearly, seeing Peter wasn’t exactly on her to-do list at the moment. She had seen him at the beach with Drew having their father-son bonding. This only served to make her feel a deep pang of regret. Peter watched her go and stood there just staring at empty space. One second she was there and in the next, she was gone. Just like how she had treated him. Somehow, he felt used. He sometimes wondered if the people of the time sans his family were using him. His thoughts however, were interrupted by his son calling him back into the water. The moment Amanda arrived home; she ran to the bathroom and threw up once again. As she watched the bile flush away, she wondered if maybe Kelli had poisoned her or something. ‘No, that’s stupid. Kelli’s in jail. She can’t be near me anymore,’ she thought to herself, Peter had never had this much fun surfing since he couldn’t remember when. He felt a certain warmth of joy when he was around his son. It was as though being around Drew made things seem okay. Watching his son, he never thought that they would be here together now and surfing. Drew served as a reminder to him of wanting to strive to be a better father. Something that he had clearly failed to do before. He was exhausted when he got home and plopped down onto the sofa and shut his eyes. Taking advantage of his dad’s sudden spell of drowsiness, Drew decided to find out what was bothering his father. And he knew the one place to go to for that answer. Amanda had finally managed to drag herself from the bathroom and walked towards the living room. She just didn’t understand what was making her feel this way. As she sat down and looked around, she could feel a chilly presence. This made her think that, albeit a little silly, that it was Kelli. Somehow, Kelli might not be here in person but Amanda felt that she was here in spirit. She knew that she had gotten rid of most of Kelli’s stuff the moment she had returned from the hospital; not wanting to be reminded of what happened. So, all this was not making any sense whatsoever to her. And she sat there just thinking if she could ever escape Kelli. As he shut his eyes, the last thing he ever dreamt of thinking about was her. Yet, he couldn’t stop himself. It was as though Amanda was his drug. And try as he might, he couldn’t get enough of her. Her refusal of him confused him even more. And try as he could to rectify it, he couldn’t. She was lost in her thoughts that she didn’t hear the doorbell ringing. She was knocked out of her reverie when she heard someone calling her name. More like yelling. She sighed and dragged herself towards the door and looked Drew Curtis straight in the eyes. “What do you want, Drew?” “I need to talk to you, Amanda.” “What about?” “It’s about dad.” He awoke to the sound of keys being stuffed into the keyhole. It was Dan. Peter knew that he had to apologize for his weird behaviour towards his brother and so stood up and addressed Dan. “Hey, mate.” “Hey,” “Where’s Drew?” “I don’t know. He probably went out somewhere after showering.” “Did you talk to him yet?” “Yes, yes I did. I apologized for being a prick.” “Good.” “Which brings me to the reason why I’m happy that you’re here.” At the mention of Peter, Amanda’s face dropped. She moved aside and allowed Drew to enter. “So, what do you want to talk about?” “Well, dad’s been acting a bit weird.” “What do you mean?” “Well, like today, I asked him about buying Belle a present and he completely lost the plot.” “Lost the plot?” “He went nuts!” Amanda’s only response was to stay silent. What Drew was saying clearly disturbed her. “What’s up?” Dan asked. “I’m really sorry about losing the plot. I shouldn’t have yelled at Drew and I shouldn’t have yelled at you. Things have just been a little bit trying lately. I hope you understand.” “We do, Pete. But, you going off like that can be a little....” “I know that there’s no excuse in taking things out on you and Drew. None of you deserve to be my punching bag for my screwed up life. I’m really sorry for all the pain that I’ve put everyone through.” He said forlornly. “We can see that you’re hurting, Pete. And we want to help. But you’re not letting us help you. If you would only talk to us, then, maybe we can help you. We hate seeing you like this.” “To be honest, even I’m not sure myself about things. I just need some time to think things through. Get myself sorted and then maybe I can talk about it.” “Well, take as long as you need mate. Just remember that we’re all here for you.” “Thanks mate.” And with that, Peter enveloped his brother in a big hug. “So, what do you want me to say?” “Well, I thought that maybe you would know what’s wrong.” “What makes you think that I know?” “I see the way he looks at you, Amanda. I know dad still cares deeply for you. In fact, I would be lying if I said that he didn’t love you. He misses you. And I can tell that you miss him to. The both of you can deny it all you want, but, all it needs is for people to look at the both of you to know that you’re madly in love with each other.” “It’s not that simple, Drew.” Amanda stated blankly. “What do you mean? Kelli’s the one to blame for all this. If Belle and I could work through it, why can’t you and dad do the same?” “It’s complicated.” Amanda offered weakly. “That’s just bull and you know it!” he snapped. Amanda had no idea what to offer him. She knew that he was right. “What’s stopping you guys from getting back together?” At that, Amanda burst into tears. Drew was horrified to say the least. He never expected this response from her. He went to her side, sat down and tried to comfort her. “I’m sorry,” “No, you’re right.” Amanda said in between sobs. “There’s something stopping us.” “You don’t have to say if you don’t want to. It’s not really my place to ask.” “No, I want to.... your dad... your dad told me that he will never be able to love me again. Trust is something he doesn’t seem to think we have either. Without love or trust, Drew, there is nothing.” Amanda explained. Drews only response was to nod. He didn’t know what else to say.
Lilone Posted May 21, 2007 Report Posted May 21, 2007 good chapter I recon Panda is preggers. She's already had the test to say she's not.

Traceve Posted May 22, 2007 Report Posted May 22, 2007 And with that, Peter enveloped his brother in a big hug. Aww Great chapter, Lil and Chrissiekins. Whats wrong with Amanda? She isn't pregnant..maybe its stress that is making her throw up? Hint? The Dan and Peter talk was sweet, and Peter apoligized for being a prick so its all good in that area of things. Drew comforting Amanda when she burst into tears was sweet, I could picture that in my head. All in all it was a sweet chapter and I want more now.

Lilone Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 Here's a teaser Dan immediately ran up to Peter, grabbing him by his shirt and slung him against the wall behind him. “You want a fight then have one with” Dan yelled as he held his fist to Pete’s face. But the thing you have to work out is, What does Pete do to make Dan this angry?
