D for dog ha ha! I like that. Poor Carly, poor Lynn. You're very good at doing characters backgrounds. Just one point though - you've written quite a lot of comments in brackets, I don't know whether the story might flow better if they were written as normal sentences instead. But just a very minor quibble! :)

Thanks for your reviws, always welcome - especially when they're nice!!!

Annette, I actually knew a kid who called his dog Deefa! And thanks for the comment about the brackets. I re-read and you're right, I think I only need to use them maybe once so I'll try and get out of that bad habit. :)

ILM I'm crying again! Poor Carly, appologies for not getting back to this sooner, I forgot just how quickly stories on here fall off the first page and I have been away over a week! Carly's backstory was so sad and I'm loving the Kane/ Scotty scenes with Milko Fred and Deefa. D for dog was so cute and you're getting Sally's childless innocence just about spot on. I love this story and you will NEVER hear the last of it if you don't keep going!xx

Tension! I love it. Really enjoyed Frank's back story. The whole scene between him and his father was so moving. Poor Frank and I loved his innocent attempt at a bank robbery. Really well written chapter ILM, please update soon.xx

“I know, mate, I know. It’s okay.” Frankie Morgan’s voice cracked as he ruffled Frank’s hair. Frankie knew he was going down for a long, long time and, for all his faults, he did, in his own way, love the son who hero-worshipped him so much that he’d even kept newspaper clippings of his criminal activities pasted in a large red scrapbook.

That's so sad!! Beautifully written ILM, just like I imagined and well worth the wait !! :P Now I can silently start begging you for the next chapter ... Thanks so much!!!

That was a great chapter, and a very good example of how well you write kids. Aw bless little Frank! Just one point though - I think it was Steven that was the last foster kid to join the family, after Lynn and Sally.
