I have a sneaky feeling that you are going to put them through a lot more before we see them happy together again! Mmmm, only a little bit . Chapter 8 Tony: ....I better get on with the fridge Beth: Yeah. They both walk towards the fridge. Tony: Hey the fridge is working. Beth: What did you do to it? Tony: Nothing. It fixed itself. Beth: Well thank you for coming round anyway. Tony: Anytime. Beth: Thanks.....bye Tony. Tony smiles arkwardly then Beth Matilda has gone over to Jack’s place to see Lucas, Tony is there too. Matilda: Whats your favourite food Lucas? Lucas: Chocolate. Matilda: Food, lucas! Lucas: I don't know. Matilda: What about you Tony? Tony: Oh, I don't know Mattie, Stirfry I suppose. Matilda: Mums cooking that tonight, you can come around and have dinner with us if you like. Tony: Thanks, Matilda...but. Matilda interupts. Matilda: Right, thats settled then. Tony: Mattie.... Matilda: See you at 7 o'clock. Tony: ......right Matilda: I'll see you later then. Lucas: Mattie, I know you think Dad and Beth should get back together but maybe you should just calm down a bit. Matilda: Lucas, this is the perfect chance to get them together! Lucas: Thats what I love about you, you never give up do you? Matilda: Nope. Lucas: I love you. Matilda: I love you too. Mattie and Lucas kiss. Matilda: I’ll see you later then Tony. Tony: Right, say hi to your mum for me. Matilda: Don’t worry I will. Matilda leaves Jack’s house. Lucas: You could have sounded a little more enthusiastic to go. Tony: Its just I don't really wanna go. Lucas: Well, you seemed to be enjoying yourself on the beach last night. Tony: Yeah, that was good but. Lucas: But...... what? Tony: Well, this afternoon I was fixing Beth’s fridge, and I went over to get my toolbox and on the dining table was a necklace that I bought her, before we broke up, it just made things a bit awkward. Lucas: Ahh, right, so you don't really want to see her. Tony: Well, its not that exactly, its just.... Lucas: .....yes Tony: ......I think shes still got feelings for me. Tony goes over to get a glass of water. Lucas doesn’t say anything for a minute... Lucas: Dad can I ask you a question? Tony: Cause you can son. Lucas: Do you still love Beth? Tony spurts out the drink he was drinking. Tony: What? Lucas: I said do you love Beth? Tony: That’s a pretty arkward question mate. Lucas: But it’s only awkward because you make it like that. Tony; This conversastion is over Lucas, Okay? Lucas: Okay, i’m sorry for bringing it up. Tony and Lucas leave Jack’s. The door is open at the Hunter House, so Tony and Lucas go in. Tony: Hi Beth Lucas; Hello. Beth: Hi, emm, what are you doing here? Tony: Dinner. Beth:What? Matilda: Ahhhh, oh dear. Tony: You didn't tell your mum we were coming Mattie? Look don't worry we'll just go. Beth: No stay, theres enough food to go around. Tony: If you insist then. Beth: I do, well make yourself at home. Tony looks at Beth strangely. After dinner they watch a movie. Lucas: It’s getting late so i'm gonna head off, thanks very much Beth. Beth: Thats okay, your welcome, what about you Tony? Tony: I’ll stay a bit longer if thats okay, with you? Beth: Yeah, sure. Matilda: I’m gonna head for bed too. Beth: Okay Mattie, sleep well. Tony: Night Matilda Matilda: Night Mattie winks at Beth Beth and Tony are sitting on the sofa its about 9:30pm. Tony: I know its quite late, but do you wanna go to the beach? Beth: Yeah, i would like that. Beth and Tony head for the beach, its just like it was last night, the sun is just above the horizon, and there is a lilac haze in the sky, it looks totally stunning.They both sit on some rocks. Beth: Wow. Tony: It always looks good here, I come down here every night and admire the views. Beth: The lilac looks beautiful. It’s one of my favourite colours although it doesn’t really suit me. Tony looks at Beth Tony: You look beautiful in any color Beth. Beth looks into Tonys eyes. She doesn't say anything, she just smiles faintly. Tony: Beth. Beth: Tony. They both laugh Tony: Why do we always do that? Beth: Maybe we are thinking about the same things. Tony: Maybe that is what it is. Tony moves closer to Beth. Beth puts her head on Tonys shoulder: Tony puts his arm around Beths neck.

Chapter 9 Tony leans into kiss Beth, but Matilda comes along before he gets the chance Matilda: Hey guys, having a good time? Tony: ...Hey. Tony looks at Beth. Beth: I thought you were in bed? Matilda: Well I saw the door had been left open so i decided to join you down here. Tony: Right....... Beth: Well you know, it is pretty late so.....you should probably get back into bed but before you do that could you go in the house and clear up a little bit please? Matilda: Yeah, sure. Tony: I'll come back with you Beth: Okay. Tony and Beth head to the house But they haven't said anything about how they feel about each other yet. Beth: Night Mattie! Beth is trowing marshmallows at Tony Tony: See ya! Beth: Oh that was good fun! Tony: Yeah it was....Beth this is going to sound a bit weird but would you like to come out on a date with me? Beth ....a date. Tony: Yeah you know, where you take someone if you like them. Beth laughs faintly Beth: I guess. Tony: You don't sound to sure about it. Beth: No its not that, its the fact that I don't know if its a good idea. Tony: What do you mean? Beth: Well, you know. Tony looks strangely at Beth Tony: No i don't. Beth: What if It doesn't work out? Tony: How can having dinner not work out? Beth starts to think about the stuff she talked to Mattie about the other day. Tony: Are are you thinking of my awful cooking? They both laughs Beth: Oh okay, only if the cooking is up to scratch though. Tony: Great, hows tomorrow at about seven sound? Beth: Good, yeah. Tony: I look foward to seeing you then. Beth: Night. They kiss each other on the cheek
