Izzy H Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 Maybe delete pointless threads? Like ones that are not read and are from like 2 years, ago, they are clogging up the forum Yep. I think I've made some threads that seem pretty pointless now. They can start of with deleting my artwork thread. That is definately pointless and crap lol. They have my permission to do so if they want to.
~Dom~ Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 I mean this thread, Pointless!!, I mean how more pointless does it get??
Cerise Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 If theres any need for it, us Members could do a list of links to Pointless Threads and it would make it easier for Mods to find them...
Izzy H Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 Lol, that is like from 2005. With just two posts. The poster was last seen in 2006 so I doubt he will posting in there anytime soon. Good idea Kirst.
Ryan Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 LOL, Billy, promised great things, but never quite delivered. Technically, posts mades 2 years ago or that haven't been replied aren't particularly a problem, they don't get in the way as such, they just sit there, though perhaps deleting them might ease pressure, if there is any on the database.
~Lynd~ Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 You've just made me really wanna bump that thread for the fun of it but i'll try and resist, lol.
~Dom~ Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 Oops, do not bump it. Deleting the thread will prevent the artwork thread from having to many threads
Cerise Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 I was just thinking something like this (last two pages of Artwork Forum) http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5797 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7125 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7123 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7285 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7121 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7393 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7469 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8128 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8335 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8262 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8193 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8148 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7710 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7698 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7813 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7690 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7652 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7628 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6780 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=6979 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7610 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7635 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7591 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7216 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7601 http://backtothebay.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7588
Ryan Posted June 16, 2007 Report Posted June 16, 2007 When we say too many threads however, we aren't talking about long dead threads which sit arount the forum. There's probably threads out there discussing who could possibly be the stalker out there. What is perhaps the more the problem is that a competition might take multiple threads to actually run it's course or each individual competition in a series being given it's own thread. For instance, we seem to be on the 30th Avatar Contest, sometime soon no doubt will see the 31st..32nd etc. Avatar Contest. That's 30 threads, worth and I don't know whether there's threads announcing the winners of the 29th Contest. You can look at that and wonder whether it would be viable for a contest series to be restriced to one thread, with a artwork orientated moderator, say Cal or Cat, editing the poll when required.
