PART 23 Mandy opens her door when she hears violent knocking and smiles, surprised to find Chris standing there. “Chris! This is a surprise!” “You shot her, didn’t you? You tried to kill the only woman I’ve ever really loved.” It’s not a question – it’s an accusation – and Mandy knows it. She bites her lip, flipping her long blonde hair over her shoulder. “It’s not what you think…” “Fine Mandy. I’ll marry you. On one condition.” “What’s that?” “Stay the hell away from Kate. If you ever so much as look in her direction ever again, I will kill you with my bare hands. Is that clear?” Mandy nods, her eyes shining with fear and Chris smirks. “Let me know when the wedding is. I’ll make an appearance.” “Okay…” He rushes out and Mandy bites her lip before reaching for the phone… “Carol Sadrinna speaking.” “Carol, it’s Mandy.” Carol rolls her eyes and sits down on the couch lazily. “What do you want?” “Chris knows it was me who shot Kate. I’m scared, Carol. I could go to jail.” Carol frowns. “How can he know?” “She woke up…” Carol screams and bangs her fist against the coffee table. “You idiot! I told you to finish Kate off! I wanted her dead! Don’t you get it? As long as she’s alive, Chris is happy! It’s not that hard to grasp, is it?” She doesn’t notice the two small figures behind her and continues angrily. “Kate Ritchie deserves to die and if you don’t make that happen, I’ll come over there and do it myself!” She throws the phone down and falls back on the couch, while Emma and Michele quickly rush to the bathroom. Michele looks at her younger sister seriously. “Emma, mommy can never know that we heard her saying that. Okay?” Emma nods quietly and Michele looks over her shoulder. “I’ll call daddy tonight and tell him.” “But Chelz, daddy doesn’t want us, he hates us, remember?” Michele bites her lip, her blue eyes confused. “I don’t think that’s true. Let’s just go to bed, kay?” Emma nods fearfully, looking at her sister. “Mommy won’t really hurt Auntie Kate, will she?” Michele shrugs. “I don’t know.” Paul finally finds Chris at a bar and sits down next to him. Chris looks at Paul silently. “I’m sorry about what I said. It’s not your fault that Kate got shot. Or Jodi’s.” Paul puts his hand on Chris’ shoulder. “It’s not yours either.” “Yes it is.” He shakes his head. “Mandy shot her. Did she tell you that she was pregnant?” Paul looks at Chris in awe. “Are you serious?” “Yeah. Six weeks. And the baby died. It was a girl. We would have called her Caitlyn. You know, that’s all we needed to be complete. I mean we have Hayden and I love him like my own. But my child with Kate… it would have been so perfect and now… it’s not perfect. It was. Now it’s not. Just like that.” He shakes his head and Paul sighs. “Chris, I’m not going to sit here and listen to drunken ramblings about how everything isn’t perfect anymore. It can be. You love Kate, she loves you. Easy as that. Go to her. Tell her that you love her. It can work out, Chris.” Chris sighs, dropping his head on the table. “I really, really love her. It’s like I’m not alive without her, you know?” Paul rolls his eyes. “Then don’t be without her.” “What about Mandy?” “Go to the police. Tell them what she did.” “But then she’s going to say I raped her. It’s a vicious circle, Paul. I can’t win. I have to give up… it’s for Kate’s own benefit.”

PART 24 Kate looks at Jodi seriously. “Jodi… You have no idea how sorry I am about everything…” Jodi shakes her head. “Kate… I over reacted. Okay, I’m not going to say that I’m happy with what you and Paul did. You shouldn’t have kissed, no matter how drunk you were. But… it makes sense. If I was in your position… I would have done the same.” Kate nods. “I just… needed to not feel alone. I was so disappointed… angry… It didn’t even register that what I was doing was out of line.” Jodi nods and holds her hand out to Kate. “Friends?” “Of course!” Amy looks at Nic angrily. “And you actually believe I’d say that to her? Even though it’s true, you have to know me better than that, Nic!” “Hold on, what do you mean it’s true?” “I mean that she is a spoilt little brat, Nic, and she needs some serious manners! Although it doesn’t look like you’re going to teach her some, does it now?” Nic frowns. “That’s not fair! I only asked you whether you said it!” “Well no! I didn’t! Satisfied?” “No. Why would Ava make something like that up?” “Do you actually believe her over me?” “What choice do I have? She’s my daughter!” “And I’m your wife!” Amy shakes her head quietly. “You know what, take your daughter out to dinner. I don’t feel like it anymore.” “Amy, don’t be ridiculous.” “No, Nic. Ridiculous is ignoring Ava’s behaviour and taking her word for something that you know I’d never say. What’s ridiculous is tolerating it. I’m staying at Sharni’s tonight. See you at work tomorrow.” Nic grabs his wife’s arm, looking fearful. “Amy, please don’t go, we can sort this out…” “Yes. We can. But not tonight. We’ll both just end up saying things that we’re going to regret later and I don’t want that.” She takes a small bag from out of her closet and starts packing in clothes while Nic looks at her helplessly. “But I love you, Amy.” “I know that, Nic, and I love you too. But you have to see clear about this and you’re not going to do that if I’m here.” Nic nods slowly. “Are we going to be okay?” Amy looks up for a second and smiles at him. “I hope so.” “And that… that was when I decided that I was not going to stand anymore!” Chris throws his arm into the air, falling off his chair as he does that and Paul bangs his head against the bar disheartenedly. “They should so pay me for this. Chris, get up. Get up.” Chris stands up and smiles goofily. “Hello Paullie Paul.” Paul sighs and shakes his head. “This is so not funny, stop smiling, you look like an idiot.” Chris gasps. “Paullie, you can’t say… that.” He almost falls over and looks at Paul seriously. Paul just sighs. “Come on, Chris. We’re going home. And don’t look at me like that, drunk people like kissing me and… no offence, but you’re not my type.” Kate and Jodi both look up when Paul walks in to the hospital room. “Did you find him?” Paul nods slowly and sits down. “Yeah… I took him to your place and he’s sleeping now. Poor guy… he’s wasted.” Kate shakes her head. “I feel like such an idiot for telling him. I should have left it.” Jodi squeezes Kate’s shoulder and looks at her seriously. “Kate, don’t say that. He has a right to know that it was Mandy. In fact… I still think you should go to the police. Call her bluff. She can’t prove that Chris raped her and I personally don’t believe he did.” Kate sighs. “Neither do I… but he’s afraid – because he can’t remember anything. It’s so confusing, I just don’t know what to do…”

Not letting Chris and Kate be happy and telling the poor kids that Chris doesn't love them I really don't like her. "But my child with Kate it would have been so perfect and now its not perfect. It was. Now its not. Just like that.€ ^That bit was really sad. Poor Chris and Kate losing baby Caitlyn, that must have been devastating... Part 24: Chris drunk was funny sad. Mandy/Carol have really messed things up for him. I hope the truth is revealed sooner rather than later. Jodi nods and holds her hand out to Kate. €œFriends? €œOf course!€ Glad Jodi and Kate made friends again as well. Update again soon Kyle!
