PART 28. “Auntie Fairy Kate, what happened to you?” Noah looks at Kate seriously, climbing on the couch next to her. Ava doesn’t wait long before sitting down on Kate’s other side. “Daddy said that you were shot, were you shot?” Kate nods slowly. “Yes, I was.” “By a crazy woman?” Kate bites her lip, looking at Ava curiously. “Who said that?” “I heard daddy saying it to Uncle Tim the other night!” Kate puts her arm around Ava’s shoulders, looking at her seriously. “It’s not a crazy woman… just… a really sad one.” Ava thinks for a minute and shrugs. “She’s crazy.” Noah nods in agreement and the two kids look up when Chris returns with Hayden. Ava jumps off the couch, running to Chris. “Ooh! Baby, baby, baby! Can I hold him? Can I play with him? Can I dress him up? Please?” Chris looks at Ava with a smile. “You can hold him, but you can’t dress him up. Come on, let me help you.” Noah pouts. “I want to hold the baby too!” Chris laughs. “You can hold the baby after Ava, okay?” “Okay!” Jodi smiles, resting her head against Paul’s chest. “It was nice of Chris and Kate to baby-sit…” Paul laughs. “Yeah… they’re going to have their hands full with Hayden, Noah and Ava… Energy!” Jodi nods, taking his hand in hers. “It’s good to spend some time alone with you… I missed that.” “Yeah… So did I. I missed you, Jodi.” She looks up at him, smiling. “I missed you too.” He lowers his head, his lips meeting hers tenderly. Paul softly pushes his wife down on the ground, landing on top of her. Jodi laughs, pushing him away. “Paul… you do realize that we’re outside?” He picks her up without a word, carrying her inside the house, where he lays her down on the bed. “Not anymore…” Jodi puts her arms around his neck, pulling him down for a kiss. “Stop talking…” “Let’s play with my cars.” “No, let’s play with my dollies.” “CARS!” “DOLLIES!” Noah and Ava glare at each other until Kate kneels next to them. “How about we all go outside and play?” Noah thinks for a minute. “Okay.” He grabs Ava’s hand. “Come on, Ava!” “Okay!” They run out and Kate shakes her head, slowly getting up. Chris looks at her with a smile and puts his arms around her waist. “Hmm… good thinking… now the kids are outside…” Kate pushes him away, laughing. “Yes and we’re going outside too because we have to keep an eye on them! Stop being so lazy, come on!” Chris sighs, giving her a quick kiss. “I’m right behind you, baby.” Indiana looks at Bobby intently. “So how are things going for you? Honestly?” Bobby sighs. “Honestly? It’s quite rough… it’s difficult getting a good job… But I just have to hold on…” “Why don’t you come back?” Bobby shakes his head. “No… I left because things were getting awkward there. And I don’t think that will change.” “Surely we can all find away to deal with it? I mean… Jess and Sharni are both over it!” Bobby shrugs. “I’m still not sure…” “Just talk to John. Give it a go… how bad can it be?” “Then the prince kissed her… and they all lived happily ever after. The end.” Noah looks at Chris seriously. “Mr. Giant man, your stories suck.” Chris pouts. “Ava doesn’t think so, do you Ava?” Ava thinks for a minute. “I agree with Noah. Your stories suck.” Chris shakes his head. “Well thanks for nothing! At least Hayden likes them.” Ava pulls a face. “He’s a baby!” “A very smart one.” “Nice try!”
