ilovekateritchie Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 Thanks for the feedback! PART 31 “Kate! Noah!” Chris closes his eyes for a few seconds trying to get them to stop burning. “Noah! Kate! Can you hear me?” He runs forward, throwing every door open. “Where are you?” “Chris…” He lifts his head up when he hears a faint voice, followed by a cough. “KATE!” Paul sighs when his phone starts ringing, reaching over to answer it. Jodi pulls him back though, smiling seductively. “You didn’t hear that.” Paul grins, pulling her closer. “You’re right… I didn’t…” Ava looks at the burning house desperately, tears storming over her cheeks. “Uncle Chris? Auntie Kate? Noah?” She walks closer to the fire, holding Hayden as close as she can. “Where are you?” “AVA!” Ava looks up when she hears her dad’s voice, sobbing hysterically. “Daddy! They aren’t coming out!” Jon takes one look at the house before starting to run in. “Jon!” Nic closes his eyes for a second before running after his friend. Ava puts Hayden down on his blanket and starts running after them, but Amy catches her, picking her up. “No, Ava… Don’t go, they’ll be back…” Ava presses her face against Amy’s shoulder, crying hysterically. “Aunt Amy… I’m scared.” Amy looks at the little girl seriously. “So am I, but we have to wait for the fire brigade, okay? And we have to get Hayden away from the smoke so come on…” Ava nods and Amy kneels down to pick up Hayden before taking Ava’s hand. “Come on, sweetie… we have to move fast.” Chris kneels down next to Kate who is lying on the ground, hardly able to breathe between coughs. “Kate…” Kate looks up at him, her breathing short and raspy. “Chris, take Noah and get out.” “Kate…” “I’ll follow, don’t worry.” He helps her up, taking Noah in his arms. “Noah, are you okay?” Noah nods, looking at Chris over the blanket. Kate takes a deep breath, her eyes fixated on Chris. “I love you. Now go!” Chris hesitates for a few seconds before running off, holding Noah closely. Kate follows him, dark spots bouncing in front of her eyes. Jon looks at Nic seriously. “Nic, you need to get out of here.” “No way, Jon!” “Nic, listen to me, just go!” Nic looks at his friend seriously for a few seconds. “Are you going to be okay?” “I’ll be fine if I don’t have to worry about you being in here! The fire brigade are on their way, just get out of here!” Nic nods and runs out, taking deep breaths of fresh air as soon as he gets out. Ava and Amy both rush to him, Amy holding Hayden closely. “Nic! Are you okay?” Nic nods, still breathing deeply. “Yeah… we have to wait for the others… we have to hope that they make it out. Have you called Paul and Jodi again?” “Still no answer…” Nic frowns. “I’m going over there. Ava, get in the car.” Ava nods, jumping into the car, followed by Amy. She immediately climbs onto Amy’s lap, pressing her head against her shoulder. Nic looks at them with a small smile before kissing Amy softly. “At least one good thing came out of this.” Amy nods and Nic jumps into the car. “I just hope they’re okay…” Chris takes a deep breath when he gets out of the house, finally taking the jacket away from Noah’s face. “Noah… are you okay?” Noah nods, his eyes still closed, and he takes a deep breath as well. “I’m okay…” He coughs lightly, tears forming in his eyes. “I was scared!” Chris hugs Noah closely. “So was I, buddy… Kate, are you okay?” Chris turns around, his heart skipping a beat when she’s not standing behind him. “No way…”

The bullet thing was just a pain Kate felt from the wound (which hasn't even had time to heal because I'm evil.) when she picked Noah up. PART 32 Kate looks around her blankly, smoke burning her throat… her eyes… her nose… she coughs again before falling down on the ground, her breath becoming shallower. “KATE!” Jon rushes to the small figure, a frown between his brows. He kneels next to her, picking her up in his arms swiftly. “I’ll get you out, just stay awake, Kate. Can you hear me?” She nods slightly and Jon sighs, relieved. “Okay… just… trust me, okay… The fire brigade should be here now… I’m getting you out of here.” Chris looks at the burning house blankly, his heart racing. “Come on, Kate… get out of there…” He looks at Noah, who is suddenly very pale. “Noah?” Noah looks at Chris blankly for a few seconds before falling down on the ground in a small heap, his eyes closed. “Noah! Come on, Noah, open your eyes…” Chris bends down, his ear over Noah’s mouth. “No, mate… Noah, you’re going to be okay, you just have to!” He bends over the boys body, tears dripping out of his eyes while he starts CPR. “Come on, Noah… wake up!” Paul frowns when he hears a frantic knock on the door, sitting up. Jodi sits up next to him, biting her lip nervously. “I think we should go… this might be important…” Paul nods. “Yeah… come on…” They take hands, rushing to the door. Nic is standing there, looking anxious. “Guys… Chris and Kate… their house is on fire… When we left, Chris, Kate, Jon and Noah were still inside… We have no idea where.” Jodi grabs onto Paul’s arm, her eyes wide. “No… no way…” Chris looks up when the fire truck stops in front of the house, a desperate frown between his brows. “Guys! There are two people inside! I don’t know where! And Noah… he’s not breathing…” One of the firemen kneels next to Noah, looking at the boy with a frown. “Have you called an ambulance?” “They’re on their way…” “Can you give us a description of the two people inside?” Chris looks at the guy angrily. “There’s no time! You have to save Noah, Kate and Jon! Now!” The ambulance stops behind the fire truck and immediately people rush out, hands lifting Noah onto a stretcher. The fireman looks at Chris seriously. “We need a description of the people inside?” “Kate is short with long black hair and Jon is tall with brown hair. That it? Now go! Please!” Jon struggles forward, Kate cold out in his arms. He finally reaches a door and pushes against it forcefully. When it finally opens, he practically falls down, his arms protectively around Kate. “I found her… She’s unconscious, but breathing… she’ll be fine.” He closes his eyes, taking slow, deep breaths and Chris rushes forward, kneeling next tot Kate and pressing his lips against her forehead. “Kate… you’re going to be okay, Kate… I know you are…” He kisses her forehead softly, a huge lump stuck in his throat. “I love you…” The paramedics come running closer, looking worried. “Is she breathing?” Jon nods slightly. “Yeah… she should be fine… she’s breathing and she has a pulse, so…” Chris nods gratefully. “Thank you, Jon.” They all look up when Nic’s car stops in the driveway and he jumps out, followed by Paul, Jodi, Amy and Ava. Chris rushes forward, taking Hayden out of Amy’s arms. “Hayden! He didn’t inhale any smoke, did he?” Amy shakes her head. “I don’t think so… but take him to the hospital for in case.” Chris nods, holding him closely as he looks at Jodi and Paul. “Guys… Noah… he’s on his way to the hospital…. He didn’t really get burned badly, he just inhaled smoke… but he should be fine… I think.” Jodi nods, tears forming in her eyes. “Ava told us you went in there, looking for Kate and Noah… thank you.” Chris smiles, hugging her closely. “They’ll be okay, Jodi. They have to be okay.”
