Brothers & Sisters

I think the US are finally seeing the flaw in there 22-25 ep seasons and perhaps thinking about UK series. I have noticed that shows with 13 episodes a season are high in quality with less filler episodes. I personally feel this is the trap Heroes fell into.

As for Brothers & Sisters I would rather see it go out on the high than get canned because it was bad. It feels like they have been setting up the end game since the beginning of season 4 and with the last few eps of the season (which I haven't seen yet but read about) it does feel like it is reaching the end.

Rebecca is the latest person to leave the show!! Apparently it was a mutual decision - Emily wanted to pursue other projects after 4 years as Rebecca and the shows bosses wanted to cut costs or something. I really like Rebeccas character and will really miss her!

I read that this morning. I'm sad but it sounds like it was what Emily wanted. I kind of agree with her that Rebecca and Justin&Rebecca have run their course. JR seem to do a lot of bickering which is getting a bit old.

Gona see the return in the morning :D

I am so excited!! I've seen a sneak peek which looks great, the family seem to have all gone their seperate ways since the dramatic season 4 finale but I'm sure they will be back to their close knit selves soon enough!

^ The episode was amazing! It was written fantastically, it was very very emotional!

Brothers & Sisters' executive producer David Marshall Grant has claimed that he does not expect the show to end just yet.

The programme received a reduced episode order for the new season and some cast members have admitted that they expect the series to finish next year.

However, Grant told TV Guide that he has not heard anything about the show's future.

"I've approached the show as if it's going to go on and on," he said. "I take my cue from the studio and the network, and they've given me no indication - not even a hint or a heads up - that [cancellation is] a possibility."

Grant added: "If and when I hear different, I will adjust and make sure that we take these Walkers off the air in the style that they deserve. But I have heard nothing to suggest that I should be planning for that."

Thank god for that!! I was getting a bit worried that the show was heading towards the end, its definitely one of my top fave shows at the moment and I'd be devastated to see it go.

I don't see how it can keep going. With so many departures and so many of the cast speaking about how they are dissapointed with the direction is has headed in. It's just not the show that it was in the beginning. I think that this season would be the perfect season to go out on.

Wow, I think the show is at the strongest its ever been at the moment!

It is a shame that the likes of

Robert and Rebecca

are leaving/have left but when you think about it they only came into the show midseason in Season 1, as for Calista Flockharts apparent lighter workload with the show I wonder how things will unravel with her. I hope Kitty doesn't turn into another Tommy who just shows up every few months because she is very central to the show. I'm intrigued as to what direction everybody will be going in, Justin without Rebecca, Sarah with Luke, Kitty without Robert and Kevin & Scotty!

I think the year jump has worked really really well, and I am really excited about whats to come this season!

I'm sure its got another 2 years left in it at least, although I do think where will they go from here, but to be honest Brothers & Sisters has always been the show with not too dramatic storylines but just shows the things that familys face which is why I love it so much, its so character driven.

I think it was at it's strongest earlier on. I enjoyed the first couple of seasons much more than I have any other.

I agree that the time jump was a good idea but I also think it would be the perfect place for it to go out on.

I just saw the first episode of the new season. Not a bad start.

But i do miss Tommy. I don't understand why the writers feel that he is not needed. For me something is always missing when the family is together. He was a part at the begining and now for me there is a link missing when they gather together. Anyone else also feels like this?
