Eli Posted April 16, 2008 Report Posted April 16, 2008 One of the main problems I have with it is that IMO the characters all seem to be acting older than their 22 years of age. It all just seems a bit unrealistic that all of them would be where they are now. I agree... I mean, everyone got somewhere great, even if it turns out not to be so great after all. Yeah sure, all they all ever wanted was that inspiration etc. etc., but still they've all come VERY far. Of course if wouldn't be that interesting to watch a show about regular people going through high school and then get regular minimum wage jobs, but it doesn't have to be any of those. You almost get the feeling they've just skipped four years because they would feel guilty for skipping more than that, I mean out of one group of friends you have a fashion designer with her own clothing line and magazine, a (former) pro basketball player with his own shoe, a published author and basketball coach, a (former) model AND a woman who got a job at a record label in LA, but decided to quit and start her own label. It's just a bit... yeah, unrealistic.

KaitieL Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I'm enjoying this season. We're only halfway through, so give it a chance, yeah. I like the lastest ep (13), especially Brooke's speech about what type of parent she doesn't want to be and how she'll give a child a loving and supporting environment. I think she'll make a great mother. And Peyton still bores me. I agree that it's a little unrealistic that they're only 22 and they've achieved that much already. They act older. When Naley were at marriage counselling and she said that they've been married for almost 6 year. And they're only 22?! My god...
rising-flame Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 They did get married at the end of the first season which would put them at about 16!
Jayde Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Yeah, they were 16. It was around the time Nathan got 'divorced' from his parents.

I can understand Naley having to act older and may be Brooke as well, it's the rest of them that I don't really understand. I guess I'm just going to have to continue watching to see where this goes.
Zetti Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Unrealistic or not, I think season 5 is shaping up to be one of the best season of OTH to date
KaitieL Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 A TV show unrealistic? Season 3 was my favourite. I think. I'll probably change my mind tomorrow...
carmelle Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 I have many episodes I love but season 3 was one of my favourites too. I'm sure it has something to do with Brucas (for me anyway). In season 4 one of my favourite scenes was when Brooke and Rachel sneaked into school to steal that exam dressed in black cat suits. The principle caught them and they ended up having to join the Clean Teens. That was just so funny.
Cerise Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Oh god, I remember. 4x11, wasn't it? Best.Episode.Ever!
