cymbaline Posted July 2, 2023 Report Posted July 2, 2023 I can't say I liked M People either but they're still on the go. Speaking of music, are there any songs that featured on Home and Away that made it out into the mainstream? I remember Suddenly by Angry Anderson being a big hit in the UK after Scott and Charlene's wedding on Neighbours. I can't think of any H&A songs that crossed over like that. Quote

Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like You Maybe? Not sure if it was big before after but H&A still had audiences of 9-10m around the time of release. Quote
cymbaline Posted July 2, 2023 Report Posted July 2, 2023 I think it was a hit on its own merits, rather than on the back of H&A. It did well in a lot of countries at the time, not just ones where Home and Away was shown. It's still the nearest thing to a tie-in I can think of. Quote

Nothing that I can recall from that early on though both Gina G (Feeling Free) and Peter Andre (Drive Me Crazy) had tracks unknown to UK era playing as early as 92/3 in the show, some several years before either released music in the UK or Ireland. It was reported in the press that the use of "Never Known a Girl" in H&A had a SLIGHT impact on its UK chart performance. Quote

Was in the background a fair bit in Enders at the time too. If it was one Peter Andre pre-Natural track that would have had an impact on UK viewers would be "Funky Junky" due to it being on the jukebox at Daphne's/Coffee Shop/Hungry Bite/etc in perpetuity in Neighbours, usually Rick scenes where he's disclosing his latest scam to Debbie. cymbaline Posted July 9, 2023 Report Posted July 9, 2023 Did Floss and Neville's gypsy van keep coming back to the caravan park? I remember Ben sold it to a neighbour in exchange for a goat but for some reason, I think it returned after that. Quote

Adam returned it after he found it on the side of the road after Pippa and Michael couldn’t sell it to a children’s home it was traded a goat yes as for how it got back I dunno continuity fail? Quote
j.laur5 Posted July 10, 2023 Report Posted July 10, 2023 But in 2000, on Floss's return it was said she sold it but I guess that’s a problem with tv shows/movies sometimes you have overlooked things. 1 Quote

The McPhees could have likely bought it back by chance then totalled it themselves? Quote
