I remember when the whole bay sent Adam to Coventry for the boating accident, and Tug even ran at him and pushed him down in the caravan park area. And Greg flipped when he found Adam was a bit negligent. I can remember Finlay sticking up for him saying he does not deserve everything he gets. But no I also do not think he deserved everything he got. 2 Quote
nenehcherry2 Posted May 11 Report Posted May 11 I do find those two interviewers annoying. Whilst I appreciate that their focus is on Prisoner and they're contributing their own time to ask H&A questions, when they then do choose to interview non-Prisoner actors like Lynne, their obvious lack of personal knowledge about H&A really shows up. All I took away from Lynne's interview was her constantly repeating how hard the actors work on the show ("we all work bloody hard" was said about 7 times"), that she loves doing panto in Ireland etc and there was no in-depth questions about her overall time on the show, the actors she worked closely with like Tempany etc. A missed opportunity and a poor end result. These muppets don't do the research and it's quite often facepalm-worthy. "Gordon Bennett, What piffle!" 2 Quote

Bert returning as he did would certainly have been preferable than a fully-able-bodied Danny returning in the same capacity. Thanks for this. I have just chased up the episode, and I am listening now. Very interesting. 1 Quote
cymbaline Posted May 19 Report Posted May 19 Yes, it is an interesting interview. Lee talks way too much though and can overpower some of his guests. Even though Debra over-estimates her acting talent, I like how pragmatic she is about her profession. I wonder did they ever ask her again after that last appearance, or was it understood by everyone that Pippa was done? At least she was wily enough to up her fee for the return 1 Quote

I imagine it was a bit of both to be honest. Pippa had no real reason to return without Sally around and it sounds like Debra was done after that latest stint. 1 Quote

adam436 Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 It seemed like a weird choice to bring back Pippa to oversee the teenagers at the Beach House, especially with the only two characters Pippa knew being absent at the time. They could have recast Irene's sister Wendy or even used Shelley Sutherland. Kirsty was around at the time, so Shelley could have popped back and stayed at Irene's with some flimsy throwaway line about the Caravan Park being full or something. From Debra's interview, it sounds like it was all very last-minute and disorganised, so they probably didn't have time to think logically about it. 2 Quote
j.laur5 Posted May 21 Report Posted May 21 (edited) I think Pippa should just be in those two episodes in 2009 and have her come back sort out Belle while she was in rehab. She could convince Belle to see Geoff and Annie and leave instead of just having her doing Irene's weekly scenes in Diner for week. Colleen was also absent that week that Pippa was back and there was no onscreen reason for Colleen's sudden absence, she just didn’t appear. Maybe Lyn Collingwood needed to take unexpected time off as I just checked that week's episodes and Colleen was credited in a couple of episodes but she didn’t appear. So maybe Pippa/Debra was back to fill both for both Irene and Colleen while both Lynne Mcgranger and Lyn Collingwood were taking time off. Or even just bring back Sally for a couple of episodes and have Sally make a flying visit to let everyone know Cassie and the baby are fine and while she's there she helps Belle though rehab. Besides I don’t know why Geoff and Annie even needed babysitting as Geoff was almost 18 and Annie was 15 and ended up staying alone together at the Beach House for more weeks until Belle was out of rehab and Irene got back from her trip. Could they just had Miles or Colleen temporarily move in beach house if they were that desperate for them to have babysitter for Campbell siblings or Campbell Siblings stay with Miles or Tony and Rachel for bit. I remember Pippa saying when she returned I am staying for couple weeks to Campbell siblings and ended up leaving next week and look what happened as soon as Pippa left Geoff was involved in possibly life threatening situation in caravan fire and if I remember correctly Geoff had stay night in hospital and therefore Annie ended up being on her own anyway for bit and survived and just makes Pippa return feel unnecessary in many respects. I think be better to bought back Pippa bit later when Irene hit bottle again after prison and once again Pippa the one that puts Irene straight and narrow after Pippa put Irene in line first time.
