Luc Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 Did anybody watch it? I found it great, the way the storylines were set, and how the characters were easy to get to know. Also, Michael caton in a dress - never thought I'd see it, but I did . Sad reason though . It's also very unexpected, like I did not see the final scene comming when we first met Rachel and Daniel. Now, is it wrong for me to be in love with Melissa and Chrissy already ?
~Lynd~ Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 I thought it was hilarious I couldn't stop laughing!I probably would've enjoyed seeing Michael Caton in a dress more if it wasn't so sad.On the other hand,i was laughing so much i almost cried at the whole penis thing!
Drew Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 I thought it was pretty good, and funny too For a second there at the beginning, I thought Rachel's (is that the daughter's name?) BF was Gyton from Underbelly The whole penis/nurse/flat mate thing was great... And Michael's Caton in a dress As you guys said, sad reason though. Next week looks hillarious when Dave (and the wife, forgot her name..) along with the son and Sammy are making sex noises to irritate the other couple And HOLY F*CK! 1 PACKED TO THE RAFTERS Seven 1,945,000 Hopefully those figures maintain on a high because I'd hate to see the show be axed. It's good to watch something very low key and just to have a laugh at.
~Lynd~ Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I hope those figures don't go down to much.Premieres always get good ratings but it doesn't have much competition at the moment imo so hopefully it finds a stable audience.
Drew Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 Not all premires are that high though... Headland, I think premiered around 1.3.
emmasi Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 And HOLY F*CK! 1 PACKED TO THE RAFTERS Seven 1,945,000 That was impressive! Well, I don't think I loved the show... It was a bit too predictable for me, and kind of bland. I actually wandered away at one point, had a think about the girl and her drunk boyfriend, decided that he'd probably end up beating her, and then when I came back she had a black eye lol. I thought the ... uh... medical problem... could have been held off for a couple of episodes. It was funny, but I find that I don't respond to stuff like that on anything but a superficial level in a first episode. I prefer to get to know the characters more so I can really appreciate their embarrassment. Still, I was able to get a small kick out of it 'cause it was "Mitch" I'm not fond of the nurse moving in next door. I already don't like her. She seemed to be acting pretty slutty for a professional. Well, for that kind of professional. I don't know though. Maybe I was imagining it. Although if she ends up sleeping with Mitch, you all owe me five bucks. I think I like the two classier kids best so far. They seem normal. The rest of them just felt a bit stereotypical. Maybe the actors just need time to settle into the roles and make them their own. Not my favourite show so far (the tone of that voice over is irritating and condescending...) but I will persevere with it. For Mitch. I still have the song in my head anyway. That's probably a good sign.
Corey Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I thought it was hilarious, and sad as well. It was good fun and had lot of things going on, and you got to see the characters starting to develop already. They have a great cast and I think its going to be good. The premiere ratings were great, I hope they maintain them. I find it hard to hear Julie call Mitch Dave and Lisa from Home And Away is now Sam it seems but I'm sure I'll get used to it, Dave is a dill, where Mitch wasn't, so they are different. Michael Caton was just awesome. Loved the viagra, the nurse and the nurse moving in next door. It was all nice heartwarming fun. I'm going to keep watching
I Love Sam Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I liked it, it was warm, funny and sad, and they have a fantastic cast. I think it's a winner.
Bareenfan Posted August 27, 2008 Report Posted August 27, 2008 I enjoyed it very much. It was good honest family drama with the right combination of humor and drama thrown together. The characters are all very believable as is the scenario. So many of us middle aged parents look forward to the day when we are free and can "walk around the house naked and play our own music", loudly of course, and with today's economic constraints our kids are flying the nest later and later. It strikes a cord with the young ones who really would prefer to be flying the coop, but have to stay home, and with the parents. It's a winner all round. And of course the cast are superb. They are blended well and it has success written all over it. I am really looking forward to getting to know the characters more, but they did well to hook us in with the premiere episode. I think Bevan has a hit on his hands.
~Lynd~ Posted September 3, 2008 Report Posted September 3, 2008 Wow...Over 2 mill.It rated better then last week.
