Homeandawayfan. Posted November 12, 2012 Report Posted November 12, 2012 I was about 6 or 7 and was watching a programme with my brother and asked what it was and he said "Home and Away". I was born in 1982 so was 6 when it aired over here in the UK in February 1989. I can remember a woman holding a cup with dark diamond patterns on it. Perhaps Roo or Pippa??? I began watching full time in 1993.
Jezz Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 i got into h&a because of sharni vinson (who played cassie) but after a while i just loved the whole show. But the first episode i saw was i think 3820 something. the first episode of cassie! Yeah it was episode 3920.
rosalie Posted November 13, 2012 Report Posted November 13, 2012 I think some of my earliest Home and Away memories are when Alf had a tumour and saw Ailsa everywhere, and when Nick was on that reality show. Around 2002/2003 I think that was..
bronie1992 Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 The first episode I can remember watching was episode 2793 with Leah's arrival. I think this is why Leah has always been my favorite character in the show
Inactive User Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 I know I did see some bits and pieces of H&A back in 1997 which I posted in my previous post. But I remember seeing bits and pieces of Shane and Angel, Dylan and baby Shane back in 1996. I didn't see Shane's death episode.
Chair Posted December 3, 2012 Report Posted December 3, 2012 I think my earliest memories were of Shane and Angel's wedding. It does blur though what I saw in the magazine and what was on the tv. We had two options on our tv (I'm not sure why) of Carlton and Meridian (for two different areas when Home and Away was shown on ITV. In the 1990s, the programmes used to be shown in these two areas a few minutes apart. I would change backwards and forwards to see the time difference.
James Martin Posted December 15, 2012 Report Posted December 15, 2012 My grandma lives in the overlap of Central and Yorkshire - which effectively gave you four chances to watch the show!
JimRRR Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 This week, I will be watching "Home and Away" for a full year
Light of the Bay Posted January 23, 2013 Report Posted January 23, 2013 I think the first episode I remember was sometime in 2001 ( I was very young.)
Homeandawayfan. Posted January 31, 2013 Report Posted January 31, 2013 I am virtually an original viewer of the show, having watched it on and off (mainly on) since the very beginning whereas some on here have only watched it in the last few years or so due to being younger or only recently got into it. I can remember the original Roo Stewart and also Carly etc. That could be why I miss the older days of the show whereas many newer viewers who have not yet seen reurns of old eps are always used to the modern day style of the show. At least long term viewers such as Maz, Roo and Alf are still around even if Roo and Maz have been in it on and off. H&A has always been more interesting than Neighbours, more colourful characters and a more colourful history even if it is almost 3 years younger than its arch rival.
