Dingo x Posted January 10, 2012 Report Posted January 10, 2012 Anyone see Shorty today at 12.00pm ? They showed the promo at the end of it!! It looks awesome!! (: I saw it! it was so well done, shows the emotion of each of the characters and their pain/struggles well. Hope no one dies though! It gave the impression someone does If someone does die then it's not Chris I really hope Dan and Jill pull through! I would rather Gabby die than one of them, apart from Chris she doesn't have a storyline. But I'm pretty sure someone will die, I think they confirmed it on the website?
Dingo x Posted January 10, 2012 Report Posted January 10, 2012 Just found this on the Shorty website. Shortland Street returns for 2012! The wait is almost over for Shortland Street fans as the conclusion to the riveting 2011 Christmas cliffhanger is revealed when Shortland Street returns on Monday 16 January. Viewers were left on the edge of their seat in 2011 as the show wrapped with a dramatic finale which saw Daniel (Ido Drent) and Jill (Natalie Medlock) battling for their lives after the pair got caught up in Hunter (Lee Donoghue)and Bailey's (Estevez Gillespie) burglary of a pharmacy to fuel their worsening drug addictions. "Hunter's addiction to 'P' has caused him to reach a new low," says Donoghue. "And with his actions leaving his friends' lives in the balance, Hunter has to now deal with the consequences of the situation, no matter how serious they are." Beginning with a thrilling return episode, viewers are in for a big year as the show celebrates its 20th anniversary on New Zealand television. With plans for the celebrations already well under way, Shortland Street producer Steven Zanoski sheds some light on what viewers can expect for the show's milestone. "2012 is going to be a big year for Shortland Street," says Zanoski. "While we will pay homage to the stories and cast of the past, we are excited about reflecting with our audience and looking forward. Story wise, be prepared for a shake up in the hierarchy of the hospital at every level, new romantic liaisons will be established and old favourites revisited, all while bringing you the freshest cast on New Zealand TV." Don't miss Shortland Street's gripping return - Monday 16th January 7pm on TV2! ___________________________________________________ EDIT: Coming up in January. It's going to be a massive year for Shortland Street as we look forward to celebrating the show's 20th Anniversary in May 2012. As the show returns in January, the aftermath of the botched pharmacy robbery leaves Shortland Street staff reeling as they race to save the lives of two of their own. With both Jill and Daniel's lives hanging in the balance, who will survive? Meanwhile Hunter struggles with his overwhelming guilt over the tragic events. Is it the final wake up call he needs or will guilt drive Hunter further toward self destruction? In denial about the possibility of being pregnant, Ula hides her worries from her parents and boyfriend Tom. Scared and alone, Ula turns to someone quite surprising for support during her time of need. But will her reliance on this person lead him to think that there might be more to their relationship than just friendship? Ula's set to make her own life incredibly complicated in 2012. With Callum dealing with his son's addiction and the fall out from the heartbreaking events of December, Rachel steps in to run Shortland Street in his absence. She reintroduces the 2IC position and ever ambitious Brooke is quick to put herself forward for the role. Desperate to impress Rachel, Brooke is determined to stop anyone, even her new found sister Bree, from getting in her way. Vinnie is appalled to witnesses Brooke's calculating behaviour toward her sister. Will Brooke's ruthless ambition killed any chance she might have had with Vinnie? Personal and professional collide as Chris and Gabrielle return to work after their fling. As Chris struggles to choose between girlfriend Rachel and old flame Gabrielle, his own indecision comes back to bite him when Rachel becomes acting CEO. This love triangle threatens to boil over into their professional lives and Shortland Street's resident Dr Love will be forced to face up to the damage that his philandering ways have on his family. Also, don't miss the return of someone from the past who will get the hearts of many a Shortland Street pounding. It's a heart-wrenching month of drama - with plenty of excitement thrown into the mix when Shortland Street returns for a brand new year on January 16. EDIT again: Just found out that the weekday Shorty repeats are going to be on at 11.30am instead of 12.00pm starting from next week. Just thought I would put it out there for the people that didn't know. (:
Cecil Posted January 15, 2012 Report Posted January 15, 2012 Comes on tonight! I'm sooooo excited to see what happens!!
Dingo x Posted January 16, 2012 Report Posted January 16, 2012 OMG! that was so sad, I feel so sorry for Roimata and Callum. I hope nothing is going to happen to Dan! R.I.P Jill Kingsbury.
KatieroxNZ Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 I can't believe Jill died! i really hope Dan survives now. I knew Ula was pregnant! I had a feeling Tom would bail, the preview was intriguing with Evan and Ula, wonder how that is all going to play out. Hunter trying to OD, while i get he didn't know how to deal with the guilt and so on, i felt it was him taking the easy way out of the situation. Instead of giving himself up and getting the help he needed, he decided to try and OD on drugs and alcohol. I wonder what'll happen with the whole situation.
Cecil Posted January 18, 2012 Report Posted January 18, 2012 ^ Yeah totally agree with you on the Hunter situation. I think he OD because he knew how much trouble he was going to get into and he finally realised how many people he's hurt. Can't wait to see what happens on tonight's ep!
Dingo x Posted January 20, 2012 Report Posted January 20, 2012 Next week doesn't look good for Dan I really hope he pulls through! I will seriously cry if he dies!!
Cecil Posted January 21, 2012 Report Posted January 21, 2012 During last nights ep when he started to talk properly I was really really hopeful that he would make a full recovery but after seeing what's going to happen next week, not so much /: But he better not die!
Dingo x Posted January 26, 2012 Report Posted January 26, 2012 Such a typical thing to happen - I was reading the Shorty highlights and found this: Vinnie Kruse's (Pua Magasiva) romantic intentions cause a rift to widen this week on Shortland Street. Believing his chances with Brooke are now remote, Vinnie instead sets his sights on her sister Bree and is encouraged when his advances are received positively. Determined to impress, Vinnie organises a special night out. Brooke, believing that Vinnie still has feelings for her, gets wind of the plans but is shocked to realise her own flesh and blood has beaten her to the punch.
