Tasha Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 I knew it was going to be Kim. But im glad Jack managed to talk him around. Great chapter More please
valli Posted May 23, 2008 Report Posted May 23, 2008 Well, at least it wasn't Lisa. Even though she can be very annoying sometimes (or all the time), she still deserves to find out the proper way. Good on Jack for convincing Kim not to tell anyone, but poor Martha Go Jack for sticking up for Martha, but it was very unnecessary of Kim to start calling them names. I can understand that he's angry, but that gives him no right to treat his friends like crap Favourite part: “We love each other” he replied in a soft voice; “it’s as simple as that”. Martha goes missing? More please!
kaciexox Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Im so glad it was Kim and not Lisa. Poor martha Jack is so sweet standing up for Martha Martha goes missing Its ok, Jack can resue her Update soon
puja Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Wow, so Kim knows now...Wonder how long before the others find out? And Martha goes missing?! Would be really sweet if Jack found her More soon please!
Barbara Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 I'm glad it wasn't Lisa who caught them. Kim isn't really happy with their relationship but at least he understands. He could still have been a bit nicer. Jack and Martha should just come clean about everything. Or Jack should at least break up with Lisa. Poor Martha! She feels so guilty. Oh no... Martha goes missing. Hopefully, Jack will find her. More please.
KaitieL Posted May 24, 2008 Report Posted May 24, 2008 Thank god it wasn't Lisa that found them. Still, why is Kim so concerned with Lisa's feelings. I didn't think that guys really cared that much. Martha goes missing. Oh dear. Let's hope that Jack tells Lisa soon. She's getting really annoying, throwing herself at him.
vale4eva Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Thank yooooou By the way, I'm running out of chapters, so my plan of updating more frequently probably wont happen lol I'll do my best though! Warning: Content may not be suitable for younger readers! Enjoy Chapter 38: Pulling his t-shirt over his head he stood at her doorway. Gently tapping her door, he awaited a response from her. When he failed to receive one, he called out. “Martha … its Jack, open up”. But still he got nothing. Getting a little impatient, he knocked again, only this time, a lot louder. “Martha, please!” he urged her. But still, nothing came of it… A retched feeling erupted inside of his stomach, as he feared for the safety of his girlfriend. She was emotional and probably scared right now … her anxiety about what was to come, was surely over boiling point. And the fact that she was currently nowhere to be seen, only proceeded to worry him even more. Spinning on his heel he rushed down the corridor and out of the building. Darting his vision, left and right, he searched for her. His heartbeat all the while pounding in his chest as the panicked sweat seeped out from the pores in his body. “KIM!” he shouted, as he noticed Kim still sat on the waters edge. “I can’t find Martha” he added in a fright. “Sorry?” frowned a befuddled Kim; who had just been pulled out of a deep train of thought. “I can’t find her; she’s not in her room!” “Well, I’m sure she’s fine, maybe she went for a walk or something” shrugged Kim. “No, she wouldn’t! She was upset; she would have waited upstairs for me to come to her” he replied; his voice quivering as he spoke. “Well … try not to panic yeah, I’m sure she’s around here somewhere” he tried to calm down his evidently distressed friend, as he saw the look of fear in his eyes. “Look, why don’t I head back to the amusement park, I’ll see if she’s down there … you go check the beach…” Kim told him. ‘Of course! The beach!’ Thought Jack as his eyes shot open through certainty … the one place where Martha could feel a sense of relief and freedom. “Thanks man” Jack called back to him as he ran towards the distant sounds of the waves, “call me if you find her” … his voice floated away into the air… ……………………………… A hand on her shoulder caused her petite and rather apprehensive body to jerk through shock. Her breath caught in her throat before her head quickly shot upwards, looking anxiously in the bright light for the person that stood above her. “Martha,” sighed Jack as he took a seat on the rocks beside her, “what are doing here?” he asked softly; his expression like a little lost puppy as he looked at her. She shrugged silently as she studied his caring eyes, before turning back to face the ocean. She sat with her legs in front of her, dangling off the rocks and into the shallow water. Her face remained in a permanent frown, as she appeared transfixed on the horizon ahead of her. Inside she felt an indescribable mix of sadness, anger, guilt and regret … just looking into Jacks eyes was enough to drill it all home to her. So, she remained forward, focusing on the feeling of having the cool air glide across her skin. It was so refreshing, and for a single split second, she could enjoy the feeling of having no worries at all… His vision dragged up the length of her legs, noticing a small red stream of blood, which seeped from out of a cut. “You’re hurt” he said in sadness, as he examined the cut on her leg. “I’m fine … I just slipped on the rocks as I was coming over” she answered; her voice and expression were emotionless. “Which is exactly why we shouldn’t be here. The tides coming in and you’ll only end up getting it infected if you don’t clean it” he told her, “let’s get back inside, yeah”. “I can’t” she shook her head, “I can’t go back now … Well, I will, just not yet ... I’m not ready to face them”. “Kim’s not going to tell anyone, and the girls are still at the park; you won’t have to face anyone tonight” he told her; trying to persuade her around. “It doesn’t matter” she added glumly, “I’ll still have to face them eventually. Especially Lisa … I probably won’t even be able to look her in the eye” she sighed; gently shaking her head. His heart broke at the state his girlfriend was in. He only wished he could take away all of her pain and sadness. “Look, I know its easy me saying this, but, try not to think about it … try and put it at the back of your mind for now” he tried to soothe her with his gentle words, as he placed a hand to the back of her head, stroking her long brown locks. “This whole Lisa thing can be sorted when we get back. Besides, we’re leaving tomorrow anyway, we probably wont even see that much of them when we get back … it’ll help take away some of the pressure”. “I guess” she replied softly. “It will” he urged with an accompanied nod of the head, “anyway, lets not think about it anymore, you’ve got your exams to focus on”. She rolled her eyes, “what’s the point of exams anyway … I know I’ll only end up failing again” she began; her self pity attitude revealing itself. He huffed in irritation at her comment, “Martha, listen to me” he quickly grabbed her by the arm, forcing her to look at him. “I know that this is bad right now, but you need to get a grip!” The air filled with silence as she looked blankly into his eyes; her lips failing to move and present any words to him. Knowing this was no way to get her to think straight, he slowly released her arm; allowing for her to fall back into her previous absent-minded stature. He sighed at the fact that he’d so easily lost his temper, “I’m sorry”. Silence filled the atmosphere, the tide gradually getting closer and closer, and the water suddenly smelling so much fresher, as dusk began to approach… 10 seconds later, and Martha spoke up; “So, what happened anyway?” She asked him, “what did Kim say when you told him? she asked. “Kim was … surprisingly easy to handle, he seemed to understand. To a certain degree anyway”. She nodded slowly, her face frowning in confusion at the prospect of Kim understanding, but she was thankful to know that he wasn’t about to come breaking her door down; demanding his half a pound of flesh. “That’s good,” she hushed back. “Yeah … I guess … and I’ve decided … we’re going to end this as soon as we get back. I’m going to break up with Lisa, you’re going to sit your exams, and then we’re going to come clean” he told her simply. “…And then we deal with the fall out” she finished off. “Yeah” he nodded slowly, “that’s pretty much how it goes. And no more stalling from now on! This can’t go on for any longer!” he added firmly. He heard her release a heavy exhale, her breath almost shaking as she did; a clear indicator of how nervous she truly was… “But lets not think about that anymore” he ran an encouraging hand up and down her back; “we’ll deal with it when the time comes” he told her; receiving a slow and uncertain nod from Martha. “Look, how about we go take a shower and freshen up … try and put on our brave faces, yeah?” he suggested. After failing to receive a response, he gently persisted; “Martha?” Her response eventually came, but the reply he received was quite unexpected… “Maybe we should stay away from each other for a while” she answered in a whisper, her head slowly turning to face him. “What?” his eyes quickly glassed over with tears, as his voice quivered through worry, “why, would you want to do that? Its times like this when we need to stick together”. “I know, but” she paused, glancing away from him; unable to stand the fear in his eyes, “I just think it might help”. “It won’t make a difference; we’ve been cheating for almost 2 weeks now; another 2 days isn’t going to make much difference” he replied in a panic. “No, but … I think I need to stay away from you … I cant go on like this … being with you … it’s just not helping right now” she sighed, “it only makes it hurt even more”. “But …” “No Jack, please” she looked him in the eye. “Like you said before; my exams are coming up in less than a week, I’ll need to focus on that anyway”. He paused for a moment, processing her words and trying to come up with an idea to persuade her around, “But, we live together, it’ll never work.” “I’m not saying we should ignore each other. I just think it might be best if we put our relationship on hold for a bit”. His face quickly fell as his forehead frowned, “You’re getting cold feet aren’t you?” “No, of course not” she emphasized, “I haven’t come this far too just ditch it in 2 seconds before the end” she scoffed. “Well good!” he retaliated through irritation. He sighed sadly, trying to calm himself down, “Martha, I’m sorry but … I just hate this … I don’t think I’ll be able to stay away from you … I wont be able to stand it”. It tore her into pieces to witness the hurt in his eyes. As if she hadn’t caused him enough pain and sadness, and here she was, about to pile on a load more. “Please just try Jack” she said as she reached out and clasped her hand with his “… for me”. He slowly nodded as he held onto her delicate hand. Smiling in sadness he turned to face the ocean, inhaling the fresh salty air as he briefly let his eyes close shut; trying his utter most to accept and understand her painful decision...
