Drew Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Whose she? The Judge? She sounds like a cartoon character.
Luc Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Yep, she's the judge presiding over the Underworld trials - she also got the Judy Moran/Barbara Williams interview from TT banned in Victoria - and I say again, I hate the woman at the moment
maccaz Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 To Nathan and other frustrated NZ Underbelly fans - there is a summary of episode 7 on the Underbelly section of the TV3 website.
Luc Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 I just wish the trials of Evangelos Goussis and Tony Mokbel were over! Evangelos Goussis has been found guilty of the murder of Lewis Moran - we're one step closer to geting Underbelly in Vic !
Luc Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Victorians exposed to Underbelly Victoria will finally be able to see some episodes of the Nine Network's banned gangland drama Underbelly. Episodes one to five will be permitted to be shown after the Supreme Court in Victoria today decided the dramatic portrayals would not prejudice an impending criminal trial. Justice Peter Vickery approved the five instalments, which have been specially edited for screening in Victoria, but refused an application to show the sixth episode as well. No application was made to screen the other seven episodes in the series. The ruling comes after lawyers involved in an upcoming criminal trial — which cannot be named — applied to have Underbelly suppressed in Victoria. The decision could see the episodes screened in the state within the month. A suppression order on the series imposed by Supreme Court Justice Betty King on February 15 expired in May following the murder conviction of underworld figure Evangelos Goussis. Underbelly quickly became the fasting selling Australian drama series of all time when it was released on DVD in May. More than 70,000 copies of Underbelly Uncut were snapped up in the first week, despite it not being available for purchase in Victoria. Last month the show won an Australian Writers' Guild award for best television mini series adaptation, from the book Leadbelly: Inside Australia's Underworld by Melbourne journalists John Silvester and Andrew Rule. A second series of Underbelly is expected to begin filming in Sydney and Melbourne in the next couple of months and will focus on the backgrounds of the gangland figures.
Drew Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 I guess that's something for the Melbourners... But specially edited? ...sounds like most of the episodes will be cut.
maccaz Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 Juat for the record, here is when the episodes will air in VIC: - Ep 1/2 (2 hr premiere): Sunday 14 September - 8:30-10:30pm Ep 3 - Tuesday 16 September - 8:30pm Ep 4 - Sunday 21 September - 8:30pm Ep 5 - Tuesday September 23 - 8:30pm Seems like they'll get those 5 out of the way quickly.
