Jamey-Maria Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I miss headland. That clips just reminds me how much.... and Andy. Damn Ch7 are stupid. Anyway, another bit of a whinge. What is Roman doing? I realise to go in all guns blazing is not his style but it's as if he's letting Elliot waltz in and take Nicole as if there's nothing he can do about it. Clearly the guy is dangerous or disturbed, or something! Can he do something, anything? It was like the other night when they came home from the wedding and Charlie said that they couldn't drive to Elliot's because they'd had too much to drink. GET A TAXI!!!!! I don't think the script is making him look like he cares about Nicole as much as it should. And Charlie... I don't want to feel sorry for Charlie over Roman and yet I feel like I'm being forced to because he won't pay her a bit more attention. This is so frustrating. >.<
Anaya Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 What is Roman doing? He's gone back to not doing anything! I thought he finally clicked that Nicole needed his attention the other night, when he brought her back home. They had that lovely conversation about how important she was to him and that her home was always going to be with him. And now he's reverted to type. I mean he's meant to have so much going on at the moment (Nicole, Elliot, Charlie, JM&Baby, the Diner etc.) but he's not really involved with anything, it's not just Nicole he's taking a backseat with, it's everyone. I don't want a 'act first, think later' action man Roman, but geez i'm thinking is it not possible for him to be in control of atleast one thing in his life, and still keep his laid back characteristics. He's Nicole's dad, ofcourse he has every right to a say, especially when Elliots shown he's got some kind of dangerous agenda. As for that taxi, they don't do them in summer bay. I've always wondered how the teens get around the bay in the middle of the night without being able to drive, but conveniently Roman(a grown man) is unable to find a way, even when his daughter could be in danger.
emmasi Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I'm disappointed with his treatment of Charlie, but it's not intentional, so I'm not really mad at him. I just wish he'd put his renowned powers of intuition into practice when it comes to his own girlfriend. Who I still don't think is officially his girlfriend, because that would be too "serious"
Jamey-Maria Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I think it's that he's great at giving advice and encouragement to everyone bar the people that are to be of so much importance to him. E.g Fantastic with Aden and Martha, semi crap with Nicole and Charlie. Which is irritating. He's gone back to not doing anything! I think at the moment that's kinda the problem. I doubt it will stay like that but right now, especially tonight, it felt like he was involved in so much and there was all this stuff surrounding him going on and he was just there. He was in scenes that included them all but he didn't DOOOOOOOO ANYYYYTHING. I did like the scene with Elliot though. All these close ups have proven Conrad has very nice eyes.
emmasi Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I think it's Roman's character to stay as uninvolved in things as possible. He has feelings, but he doesn't show them. Nicole's the only person who really gets to him and forces him to emote. I think it's good that Charlie understands that and doesn't pressure him to be something he's not, but I don't think she's as resistant to his lack of affection as she'd like to think.
Anaya Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Nicole's the only person who really gets to him and forces him to emote. Yep I agree, but even then he still doesn't deal with her or the situation. The 'new' Charlie's great to be paired up with Roman, she's patient and understanding, and gives Roman space to deal(or in his case not deal ) with his own seperate issues/problems. But even Charlie's got to have a limit and can feel sidelined, she rightly needs affection and will soon be demanding it too. Everyone wants a piece of Roman, even Aden didn't get a look in today(so i've read), and poor Roman doesn't know what to do.
emmasi Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Everyone wants a piece of Roman, even Aden didn't get a look in today(so i've read), and poor Roman doesn't know what to do. That wasn't Roman's fault, it was just bad timing. They were alone in the living room and Roman said that he'd listen if Aden wanted to talk, but then Nicole came in with Elliot and demanded the spotlight, going so far as to blame Aden for not doing anything to stop Roman from asking Elliot to leave At which point Aden bailed because he wasn't in the mood for her crap. Then Roman got Aden alone again and tried to talk to him about why he broke up with Belle, but Aden walked out, and Roman went to follow him, but as he walked into the loungeroom someone (I think Charlie?) came to the door, and Aden was already up the stairs before Roman had a chance to catch him. Frustrating >.<
Jamey-Maria Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 Ok there's enough discussion in here for me to be shallow for a minute. I was gonna say something but I forget now looking at these. I believe Anaya was looking for them also.
Anaya Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 I believe Anaya was looking for them also. You are a star.
emmasi Posted July 21, 2008 Report Posted July 21, 2008 That'd be the "honestly, it's honesty" scene right? Judging by Roman struggling to keep a straight face
