bttb-rox! Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 I felt it. I was having a late night downstairs and just before 1am, I felt the chair (which I was sitting on) next to the sofa shake. It went on for about 10 seconds. At first, I thought I was just imagining it, however, when my mum came down from upstairs and said, ''This is going to sound daft, but did you feel like the ground was shaking?'', I thought it must have been an earthquake. Sure enough, I put the news on at about 2:30am and it was confirmed. At least there haven't been reports of any deaths. However, there have been a couple of injuries, so I just hope that those who have been hurt will make a speedy recovery.
Cal Posted February 27, 2008 Report Posted February 27, 2008 England gets a little shake and it's all over the news, Scotland is literally flattened by 130mph gusts yesterday and not a whisper. That's like here and the East.
carmelle Posted February 28, 2008 Report Posted February 28, 2008 I was awake at that time and I felt nothing but my friend who lives near by felt it.
kitty_baby777 Posted February 29, 2008 Report Posted February 29, 2008 I didn't feel it and am not sure whether to be relieved or disappointed about that!
-Karen- Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 I knew nothing about it.....I have always said I could sleep through an earthquake!!... Literally!!
~Dom~ Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 I go to a boarding school and I was awake at the time, didn't feel it though, but people in other houses felt it. Hmmmm.. Good job I didn't, otherwise I would have screamed the whole school down!
Dazacoulls Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 Well us down in Cornwall didn't feel a thing. . . I've always said Cornwall is frogotten about EVEN EARTHQUAKES I reckon if the world ended tomorrow we down here would be OK, LOL.
flutterby Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 I will sleep through anything! I was well disappointed I missed it! My next door neighbours did, but all occupants of my house snored soundly through!
Sarah8t9 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Yeah I felt it. I live in Wales though and the earthquake didnt reach down this far apparantly but I still managed to feel it. Everybody I asked about it all said they didnt feel it though so it seems like im the only one. It was sooo strange! I've never felt anything like it before. I was reading in bed and then my bed started shaking. It only lasted about 5 seconds though but it still scared the hell out of me. At the time I thought there was a ghost shaking my bed lmao! It wasnt until the next morning that I realised it was an earthquake. My bad!
