emmasi Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Don't get too excited. The writers seem determined to convert us all into Rachel-lovers I'm staying stubborn. IF she ever admits that she did wrong by Kim, I MIGHT consider giving her another chance. Until then, no. Not even Aden will help her. Therefore, writers take note: the only way to redeem Rachel in my eyes is for her to apologise to Kim, and he must be in the episode and given the opportunity to be properly farewelled by the people that knew him

Yeah, I have terms like those for Jack and Martha to be redeemed in my eyes, but it involves Sam returning from the dead, so I can't see it happening any time soon.
JackWilkins Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Note: We of the Anti-Rachel thread are not all concerned with Adelle. I personally am because I love both characters, but let's not forget what this thread is about, the bitter hatred of Rachel Armstrong/Hyde/Sullivan/Rigg/Holden/Terwilliger-Hutts-McClure and everything she stands for. Aden is just the latest victim in a long line of people (men) that she's used and abused to perpetuate her own delusions of perfection. As soon as she laid eyes on him, I knew she'd end up hurting him She's done three good things since destroying Kim: she faked the raid on Ric's fight by calling an ambulance, she suggested that Aden should get counseling, and she forced Roman to take him in. That is it. And now she's set about undoing two out of three by wanting Aden to be taken away, because he doesn't deserve a chance at a normal life anymore now that he's exposed her relationship with Tony as a sham. Meaning that she never really cared what happened to Aden, she was just on a crusade to prove how wonderful she is by helping him until it all got too inconvenient for her. She's a hideous human being *Applauds emmasi* - I don't think,I've ever agreed with a post more. I cannot begin to thankyou enough for it. I hope you don't mind me saying this.... Oh,and if I'm allowed, please could I contribute to this thread? Thankyou
Zetti Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 This is just how I feel ...Aden has been through so much and at least he doesnt pretend like he is perfect. All rachel does is complain about how hard off she is! I mean Aden isnt going around feeling sorry for him. He is trying to make something of himself while Rachel just complains! I am not one to jump to conclusions and this is just the last straw, she is so determined to destroy his life which doesnt make any sense as she was trying to give him a positive start by placing him with Roman so he can move forward and now she is suddenly turning his back on him?!?! That is just so not on. To be abandoned by someone who is meant to help you! I cant believe that she could that callous. Actually wait I can

xknomex Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 We all love Aden and want adelle to stay together eva and if rachael is gonna be getting in the way then we dont like her right now. Rant over sorry Note: We of the Anti-Rachel thread are not all concerned with Adelle. She's a hideous human being wow, that is all my thoughts right there!!! i agree 200% with everything you said! and your right, she has only done 3 good things! which is why i dont understand how she has stayed in H&A so long. everyone in home and away becomes good, and if they dont they end up leaving! so maybe she will leave soon
JackWilkins Posted August 29, 2008 Report Posted August 29, 2008 Oh,and if I'm allowed, please could I contribute to this thread? Thankyou Go for it Jack, you have the right to! Thankyou Zetti! In which, case I'll continue by not only agreeing with what everyone has said. But,since the day she shouted at Sally, after her (thankfully) failed wedding to her equally odious brother,I have struggled to like Rachel, more and more. And this week, just tipped my dislike her for her over the edge. Putting her treatment of Aden aside, who I would have thought she should be able to sympathise with him, having been sexually abused herself, yes not in the same way,but the retched trauma it would undoubtedly cause you, would be something she would be able to relate to him on. She's given him the help and support to get some counselling and also encouraged Roman to take him under his care...and when the......hits the fan and Aden totally falls apart, she suggests he should be 'locked up'. Nice work,DR Armstrong!! Also, whilst I'm at it here, the way she twists and manipulates every problem she has to be other the persons fault - Tony's vasectomy being my example there - she throws one of her whinging, whining tantrums to get what she wants, and makes the other person (Kim/Tony/Aden.......) feel hugely guilty and then when it's all 'blown over' everything is alright again for her! It'll happen when Tony returns - mark my words!! It'll be his fault!
emmasi Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 Hm. Maybe I underestimated our little "car load" of haters. Perhaps we need a minivan I don't think there's much point hating her over wanting Aden locked up anymore since the writers threw that one back in our faces (damn them ) but if I REALLY wanted to see the evil in it, and I do, I could just go back to Rachel doing "the right thing" to make herself look perfect. I will give her a little benefit of the doubt on that one - she seemed to have a moment where she realised that she was about to feck up Aden's future out of spite - but even so... I can't get past the fact that she went to visit Larry first, and had to have him tell her that it wasn't Aden's fault. She was there, wasn't she? She heard how Aden was ranting about it being all Larry's fault - that he LET his grandfather abuse him... and yet Rachel ends up on Larry's side!? Sure, Aden mistreated him for a few nasty hours (and in fact, that was Larry's fault too - he didn't have to drink the alcohol or run away injured when he left Axel to die), but does she really think that what Larry suffered in those hours is worse than what Aden went through, knowing that the one person who could have stopped it just didn't care? Yep, that should be enough for me to keep hating her on this one. I'm sure it was just a plot device to get her to the hospital to have her outburst and then see the error of her ways... but seriously. It was like she saw Larry as the innocent victim and Aden as the evil sadist who wanted them all to suffer. Aden said it himself - Rachel shouldn't have been there, it wasn't his fault that she was. And yet she makes it all about her, acting like he "kidnapped" her (he DID NOT kidnap her - he held her against her will, there is a difference) because he specifically wanted to mess up her relationship with Tony... Like that wasn't a joke from day one anyway But I guess now we get to wait and see what happens when Tony returns. It will be all his fault, of course. "Damn it Tony! How can you think that I'd run off with Hugh!? Just because I've known him for years, and he's in love with me, and I cheated on my last husband with him, and I didn't seem very excited to be marrying you, and I was acting like the whole thing was a total chore, and Hugh sent me emails saying that he wanted to get back together with me, and I hadn't told you about them - as if I was trying to hide his contact from you because I felt the same way about him and didn't want you to know, and then I disappeared and my car was gone and no one could get in touch with me... WHY would you take all that to mean that I'd left you!? God Tony, you're such an idiot. As if I, the most perfectly flawless person on the face of the earth, would ever do a thing like THAT! . Even if I hated you, I wouldn't leave you - that's not what perfect people do. Perfect people stick to their commitments whether they like it or not, wearing the other person down with constant shame and hostility until THEY do the selfish thing and leave. No Tony, I won't be the one to break us up. That will be your doing. Entirely yours. I'll make sure of it."
KaitieL Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 I still hate her over wanting Aden locked up. It's the fact that she reacted that way in the first place. Showed her true, selfish person that she really is. She didn't react that way with Reverand Hall and he went out of his way to kidnap her. Now I'm not completely in love with Aden and think he can do know wrong, but I still like him. But the only reason she changed her mind about Aden is because she realised how bad it would make her look. She didn't want people to think she was selfish, so she had to make herself look good. And it was partly her fault for putting herself in that situation. She went around accusing him of breaking her into her bag. Now yes, he did. But just five minutes before that she wrongly accused Jimmy. You think she would think twice about it. She barged into the house. She could have left, but no. And you would think she of all people would understand what Aden was going through. It happened once to her, yet Aden suffered years of it. And to find out that your father let it happen, well that would be enough to want me to kill him as well. So yeah, I still don't like her and I don't get why all the Rachel fans think they've won this round, so to speak. 'See, in your face, how can you hate her after that? She did the right thing.' Yeah only because she didn't want to look bad. Still hate her and I don't see it changing anytime soon. Oh and I love the minivan idea Jem, we should decorate it.
