Corey Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Last nights BGT wAS THE NORMALL mish mash of hopefulls but the young lad who sand at the end Simon stopped him and asked if he had another song and he sung one of Michael Jacksons song and what a voice he blew every body away and had all the Audience on there feet plus the judges. That was soooo obvioulsy staged it was cringeworthy, and how convenient that he had a second track he could sing to. Shaheen is a really good singer, very good in fact; he is like a lot kids we see today, we are conditioned to think they are great. But he goes to stage school he has already had several god TV roles, he has been on tour and played Micheal Jackson and sung that very song in a musical, and he is only 12 , so what's he doing on BGT? He's seeking the quick route to fame and fortune because he wants to be famous, thats what! . He doesn't want to be a great actor or a great singer he wants to be famous. Simon may well want him to win because at 12 he is going to be more packagebale, and will do as he is told and he wont have to worry about the long term as Shaheens voice will break in ayear or so and Simon will have made a quick buck from him and he can cheerio wiuth impugnity. If Susan wins he will ahve someone who sings beacsue they want to sing, and who is not going to be a pushover as far as image is concerned and due to her learning disabilities will require more far nurturing and support. I am a cynic and I think it was a fix, and Simon will go for the easy option and push Shaheen, when really Susan is the one who has heart and soul and in the long run has far more to offer. C'est la Vie. You are right about last night being a mish mash, it was rather boring, I quite liked the sax player, but we did not see enough of the other acts to tell if they were any good. The Belly dancer was awful, what were they thinking putting him through? I was cringing with embarrassment. There were too many embarrassing acts this week, and that lippy girl at the beginning was sooooo awful her Mum must have grounded her for a year after that. Unless they were plant as well
Izzy H Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 What a disappointment this weeks show was. There were no acts that stood out for me. I could say that the saxophone player and the young boy were good and could do well, but wait, they already have had achieved some sort of success previously. The saxophone player is already or was signed up to a label linked to Simons (what a surprise) and has performed with some successful artists and the young boy was on tour with the musical production of Thriller. This is what I hate about shows like this, they are meant to be finding a new talent but yet they are using people who have already been there and signed up to record labels, who have performed on stage with singers, who have toured with artists etc. Give other people a chance. How disturbing was that belly dancing act? Seriously, as if the Queen wants to see that. I think next weeks show needs to be as good as the first episode was otherwise I may start to lose interest altogether. Oh, and we will get to see Kelly Brook soon, it just gets better ... not.
Barbara Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I have never watched the show as I don't live in the UK and don't have ITV. But I heard about Susan and her amazing voice on the news here in Belgium a few days ago. They only showed a small extract so I went on youtube to see the entire performance. That woman has a really good voice. I love the judges' reactions. They were wondering what she was doing there and then she started singing and they were amazed. So were my cousins and I. You usually don't expect people over 40 to take part in shows like that.
Abi Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I don't think that this week's show was as good as the first. I mean, who would want to spend their Saturday night watching someone put their finger in their belly button and lick it? The judges had to turn away from it, so I doubt the Queen wold enjoy watching someone doing that. I find it hard to believe that Amanda and Piers put that act through... as if he is going to win the show when there are other acts that are much better. Simon can be a bit harsh at times, but I completely agree with the comments he made on Saturday's show. Although, I do think that the young boy is a very good singer, but to be honest, I don't think he has the potential to win the show. The man with the saxaphone was really good and a different act to what we normally see, but again he just doesn't appeal to me. The preview for the next show looks exciting, so hopefully it will be as good as the first show, if not better.
Lesley Bee Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I loved the Guy who played the Saxophone, he was totally amazing it actually made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
.Amy. Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I am quite curious for next week's with Kelly Brooke because did you see the preview? With the balancing guy and I think it may have went wrong and Amanda freaked out?
Izzy H Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 The preview with the guy did look good... thats the only part with Kelly Brook that I am looking forward to seeing. I wonder if it was made to look like it goes wrong only for it to be part of the act. We'll just have to wait and see.
Mrs Bishop Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Last nights BGT was a bit freaky with the guy and the balancing on Knives Personally I think Simon was right not to let him go through he never looked in controle and I thought he had slipped at one point, # The ten year old who sang what a great voice for such a little girl.
nia06rox Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 that girl and the dance group diversity were really good!
Laura Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 I didn't watch it but I saw a couple of acts on YouTube. That dance group Diversity were amazing. Even better than Flawless. And that 10 year old girl was really good aswell. The guy with the knives was a bit freaky and I thought he'd stabbed himself in the head. Felt a bit sorry for him when they said no though.
