Kirsty Appreciation Thread

She's only 21 (in acting and in real life too). I think she has done so much for her age! Other actors/ actresses who are in there early 20's are still stuck in the stage where they are acting as teens, boyfriend troubles...e.t.c. I find it hard to believe that she's done so much by the time she's 21!.Got married, had kids..

I agree with you! Most of those opinions are just ridiculous. Someone can't just be generally annoying, there have to be something he or she does that makes them annoying.

And you have a really good point there oseri. How can they call her prostitute when only one Kirsty's ever slept with is Kane? Kirsty isn't the only one wearing short skirts or dresses, so then there are lots of prostitutes in the Bay or what?

I think having a go at Jai for leaving Ollie alone was a natural reaction. It showed her mother instinct and well you can't just leave a 3 year old boy to himself even though you are upset...

I have to admit I liked Kirsty earlier as well. I started watching H&A when the 2004 season were shown in Norway and Kirsty (and KK) quickly became my favourites. I don't think Kirsty were that rude and selfish then, but after watching older clips I changed my mind- Although I couldn't just start hating her then Seeing how Kirsty is now makes me like her even more. I think she changed a lot over the years in the Bay, but it's great to she that she has changed even more during the time on the run. I also think it's great to see her as a mum and how she is dealing without Kane. Oh, and I must say I liked her scene with Irene in the diner after Kane said she should move on. Her crying, Irene looking really sad and Kirsty saying: "I can't believe this is the end". Looking forward to more Kirsty scenes this week!

I really felt for Kirsty today - she tried to keep things professional, and there wasn't even a question of her using him to benefit herself. I'm interested to see how this story pans out - but there are so many squick factors, like how she reminds Bartlett of his mother, and Bartlett in general...

Thought Kirsty was wonderful with all the compassion she showed towards Melody in today's episode. She's still not very good at thinking through consequences if she thought she could just mouth off to Bartlett, though. (On the other hand, I would have loved to have seen Miles duel Bartlett, as he thought he "probably" would have done if Kirsty had told him about the massage <3)

I wonder how Kirsty would be now with any of her siblings? I wouldn't like to see Danni show up (and since Tammin Sursok is in Y&R now, it is incredibly unlikely), but it would be interesting to see her interacting with Jade or even Laura, because they never really got to know one another.

I'd love Jade to show up and Laura, especially as having Laura show up and stay would mean Christie can stick around without Sam haven't to give up directing.

i really can't stand the writers atm. she should tell kane that since he didnt want anything to do with her anymore he should find the money himself.

I used to adore Kirsty. I found her rather relatable and feisty yet with a touch of vulnerability.

But ever since Kirsty's returned to Summer Bay they've pretty much tried as hard as they can to trash KK and her character. Bartlett was in the wrong but I'm not suprised he fired her. She was truly incompetent and a massive idiot. The you've got her going from Kane to Miles to possibly Kane, and then becoming an escort?

However that's here nor there being the appreciation thread. I'm still a fan and I adore her with the gorgeous Ollie (though where's he disappeared to?). And I've found her and Miles to be quite sweet. I just wish the writers would utilise her better. Some continuity and reference to the past wouldn't go astray. They had apt opportunity with Matilda (they were each others last familial links to the Bay), and lately with Martha (her cancer/pregnancy/miscarriage storyline is VERY similar to Kirsty's kidney disease/pregnancy/miscarriage storyline).

As for reading a couple of comments about people thinking she dresses skanky. What??? I have yet to see her wear a bikini. And although she has a couple of short skirts, I've seen much shorter on Leah, and especially Nicole!!! There's no way I'd say her style is 'slutty'. I think that people are grasping at straws there.

I think that was really well said. There's a lot of wasted potential for Kirsty's character. She could be friends (possibly) with Belle, Charlie, or Martha - but instead she's stuck with Leah, who has apparently dropped all her feelings for Miles till it's more convenient to the plot.

No bikinis, but she has appeared in her underwear That aside (because it was secretly plot), there's only one outfit that I've found objectionable, and that's the one she wore on the school excursion day. I think Matthew, that excessively annoying kid, hit on her, and then Bartlett did, so she got out the dowdiest clothes she owns and went back to school.

Normally, no, I don't think she dresses like a "skank" at all and, yes, I'm also surprised by it in a show where so many others dress either similarly or worse.
