Zetti Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 About Rachel. I have to agree. My sister loathes her. She doesnt appeal to me to be a true pop artist, Austin didnt deserve to go regardless of his crying ability which people seem to hate him for, he is a good singer and I hope he comes back in the music industry, he does deserve it. JLS rock, is there nothing they can do. I love Laura. I cant see the hype about Diana though, she is good and along with Laura and Alexandra are fast becoming my top 3. Cheryl should win this years X factor. Daniel and Rachel are fast losing their appeal to become the winner, Eoghan does stand a chance and Ruth is good. Purple Rain was her best song. Looking forward to Mariah Carey week. One of the best female vocals of all time along with Celine and Whitney and Leona and Rihanna and more...
Lesley Bee Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I think Mariah Carey week will be really good, it will be interesting to see how the boys interpret one of her songs though I definately think one of Cheryl's girls will win this year, i just don't know which one.
rachel&kim Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 There's something about Laura I'm not warming to. I think she's got an amazing and powerful voice but I don't like the way she sings. It's too fussy. She should take it back to basics and just sing the song raw. If that makes any sense. Alexandra has recently really impressed me, at first she didn't make much of an impression on me but I've loved her the last two weeks. Since Ruth sang Purple Rain I've really started to rate her. And I don't think it's fair of Simon to criticise her all the time because she's not singing in Spanish. JLS are amazing, and the way they let that little one be the lead singer was an amazingly professional and mature thing to do, and I think it really worked. At the moment Diana's my favourite but I'm not sure she'll win. If it goes anything like Ben two years ago it may not work for her. She's different, so was he, but the general public didn't really get him and he lost out. Even though he was incredibly talented.
TachelHolden Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 diana's performance on saturday was by far the best and i hope she wins my sister says that rachel is too manly and thats why she looks so uncomfortable on stage hmm?
princess_in_pink Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 Just my opinion... sorry... & I totally respect that. Just thought I;d give my 2 cents worth. As I said I really liked Rachel during the audition stage. Her rendition of Chasing Cars, I thought, was amazing. I just hope she can redeem herself. There's something about Laura I'm not warming to. She's different, so was he, but the general public didn't really get him and he lost out. Even though he was incredibly talented. I agree. No doubt, she is a strong vocalist, but I wish she would just tone it down. Her first audition, for me just seemed like she was screaming. & her lower range is too deep, and sometimes I feel she sounds like a man =P [E.i: You are not alone performance, the beginning of the song was horrible I thought.] I do like Alex. When I remember her. The problem I find, is that I often forget her, and I don't want to do that. I just think she is sort of overshadowed by the other female singers in the competition. Shes not very distinct either, so thats why I find it hard to remember her. I often find myself saying "oh yeh Alex". =P
KirstyEkua Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I love Diana. I think she's quirky and different, and her performances are exciting to watch. The only thing that really bugs me about her is her hand when she sings. Has anyone else noticed that? She needs to figure out what to do with it, it drives me nuts I think Alex has an amazing voice and is incredibly pretty, but she's no different to any other Whitney/Mariah inspired singer out there. Diana has something special and unique, and i think that's what the X Factor should be all about. It drives me insane when people get through just because they have a 'sob' story. It's been done to death and i'm so tired of it.
claire_louise Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I think Alex just needs to find her niche, which unfortunately isn't easy to do on a show like this where they have to sing all different types of music. There isn't really a market for another black female popstar at the moment, what with Leona, Beyonce and Rhianna dominating the charts, but I think Alex has an amazing voice and could do really well in a different area, maybe jazz or gospel? She needs something to distinguish her from everyone else.
Corey Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I cant understand why Daniel is still there.
LAURZY! Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 ^^same, i dont think he's done a decent performance yet!!
