After watching the preview I thought the writers were going to cop out with a couple of the cliff hanger storylines from last season but I'm glad they delivered. Barring the stuff with Ivy and Dixon (which I absolutely hated) I really enjoyed the season premier. It was almost everything I could have hoped for although there were a couple of things that were unanswered.

I'm glad Annie did the right thing and came forward but I have to say house arrest for a hit and run, not to mention causing death by dangerous driving is ridiculous (notwithstanding the fact she was almost certainly over the limit which presumably the police didn't find out). She should have gone to a juvenile detention centre and probably should still be there. In the fictional sense I'm glad she's paid her dues and that storyline is now over with as I really like her. Liam is another person who I'm certain would have spent Summer in Juvie after confessing to stealing his step dad's coins and beating Jasper to a pulp but I'm glad he's around too. I would really like to see Annie and Liam together but not at the expense of Annie and Naomi's friendship although I think Liam and Annie are the least of Naomi's worries at the moment.

I'm glad Javier's gone. I thought he was arrogant and was getting in the way of Adriana and Navid's relationship and would have no doubt caused problems. I don't think it was right for Adrianna to steal his song book but let's face Javier's not going to need it anyway.

I don't mind Silver and Teddy together and actually think she is good for him. She clearly brings out a more caring side with him.

As I mentioned above when I saw the preview and Naomi appeared to be having a good time in one scene I thought that maybe she'd fought Mr Cannon off or somehow escaped or maybe he changed his mind at the last minute but I'm really pleased they went through with the rape. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone but I think it would just be a really good storyline in terms of character development for Naomi who was consistent over the first two seasons. I felt sorry for her especially obviously having to leave her home that is now owned by Jen, having to spend the whole of Summer in a motel by herself and rolling into school thinking everything was OK until Mr Cannon showed up turning her whole life upside down. I expect her to go off the rails more and more with each episode as some sort of coping mechanism.

I personally found Dixon and Ivy incredibly boring. For me all their scenes were like watching paint dry and I wish they'd hadn't been in it at all. The English guy was so annoying. I'm not going to comment on him and Laurel and to be honest I don't care.

I'm really disappointed Debbie and Harry have separated but I still really liked the stuff with her, Annie and Dixon and think there's potential for storylines as her brining them up as effectively a single parent.

Ryan seems to have made a miraculous recovery after bordering on being an alcoholic with no follow-up to what happened when he got into his car completely wasted or since.

I'm really enjoying this season. I think it's been better than season 2 up to this point so far.

Absolutely loving the stuff with Jen and Debbie. I'm finding some of their scenes hilarious such as the job interview when Jen told her how sad she was becoming a housewife and when she asked Debbie to compile a list of tasks into a spreadsheet, Debbie came back the next day with a whole file's worth of information and Jen just chucked it straight into the bin without even looking at it. I like that Debbie won't stand for any of Jen's put downs and find her comebacks equally as good as Jen's one-liners (e.g. her "Don't be a b*tch...oh and you should move the stage" remark to Jen when she wouldn't let Naomi see her new born baby). I never would have put these two together but I think having Debbie work as Jen's assistant was a really good idea and they seem to work really well and it's good to see Jen interacting with someone other than Ryan or Naomi.

As expected when Jen had the baby she's shown a more caring side i.e. Ryan. I actually like the relationship they have at the moment - They aren't together but seem almost like friends. When she found out about the rape she did seem to be sympathetic towards Naomi. And the sympathy did appear to be genuine. It's a shame it took something like this to bring them closer together. Apart from trying to block Naomi from accessing her trust fund and the occasional act of rudeness, compared to before I don't think she's done anything that bad this season. She certainly hasn't lied which was a characteristic trait of hers. Still I would like to see her apologise for everything she put Naomi through previously and acknowledge that she was in the wrong.

Overall I've liked the way they've handled the rape regarding Naomi but for someone who said at the start she's not the same person, it doesn't seem like it at times. I would have liked to have seen her a little bit more irrational and perhaps tone her image down but she still seems to be enjoying herself. I hope they catch up with Mr Cannon so she can face him in court but the police officer mentioned an extradition order so it looks unlikely.

Adrianna is smokin and looked hot when she was doing the modelling shoot. Her quest for fame is clearly driving a wedge between her relationship with Navid though. It's even more worrying now that Navid and Silver seemed to be getting closer in the last episode and I really hope they weren't bonding but I fear I'm wrong. I was surprised Silver didn't judge Navid's dad for using a minor in his porn film with her being a borderline feminist but to be fair she did make the sex tape of herself and Dixon that time. Anyway I've really liked the way she's supported Naomi this season.

*Sighs* I was hoping Oscar would be gone after his wonderful master payback plan for Laurel. He's a character that doesn't really interest me TBH and that fake English accent is seriously doing my head in (Is the actor even British?). I've said this before but why oh why whenever foreign shows have a British person on they have to over emphasise their accents? Also the Dagenham stuff was ridiculous. There's no way Oscar could tell from Mr Cannon's accent he was from Dagenham and not Chelsea. I wouldn't be able to tell if someone was from Dagenham or Chelsea. Well at least they got the places right.

The problem with Ivy is that the writers are not really doing anything with her. All we've really seen her do this season is hang out with Dixon or Oscar. Last season she was a lot better when she was part of the Liam/Teddy/Dixon/Navid clique and I also really liked it when she and Naomi were on friendly terms for a short time. I would almost go as far as saying she's been relegated to a support role now.

Dixon's been slightly better but I would like to see more stuff with Annie and Debbie. I'm really not liking the stuff with Ivy and just find it extremely dull.

Liam is absolutely cracking me up. It's unfortunate but funny the situations he keeps landing himself in. Firstly the job where he was posing in the shop window and Navid and Dixon were taking the mick. I'm also finding really amusing how Laura has been pursuing him completely deluded and oblivious to the fact that he just isn't interested. I quite like Laura and actually hope she and Liam get together and I'm not too fussed things haven't really worked out with Liam and Annie. I can't believe Laura's a drug dealer, seriously her mother must be loaded so I'm not sure why she feels she has to do that. It will be interesting to see how Liam handles things now.

Can't really get into this storyline with Teddy but it will be interesting to see how everybody reacts when the truth comes out.

Been quite a while since I last posted and so much has happened. Quick note regarding Jen – I was disappointed that she left as she was shaping up to be one of my favourite characters this season. Anyway that seems like such a long time ago now.

There was a period of time when I thought a few of the main characters were coming across quite badly. Annie and Liam sleeping together behind Charlie’s back was not cool but the writers seemed to get around it by having Annie dump Charlie the next day, Liam deciding not to pursue a relationship because he and Charlie had reconciled their differences, Annie sending Liam a text message saying how painful it was they couldn’t be together, Charlie reading it before deciding that Annie and Liam were in fact meant to be together then heading off to Europe. I wasn’t too bothered about Annie and Charlie TBH but I would have really liked to have seen something happen with Liam and Laura.

I was really disappointed with Navid and Silver. Silver more so because she’s always been a person with strong principles. I find it hard to believe she would knowingly sleep with someone else’s boyfriend let alone one of her closest friends. It just seems out of character. Anyway now that Adrianna knows it will be interesting to see how she approaches this. Will she go in all guns blazing or will she play it smart.

I have mixed feelings about Adrianna. Sometimes she comes across as totally self-centred but there are other times where she seems nice, like at the retreat with Emily and then when Annie started arguing with her about what Emily went and told Naomi and Adrianna.

This storyline with Teddy is a good idea in principle but I’m not really feeling it with this character. It would have been far more effective had they used Liam or Dixon (Not really sure if it would have worked with Navid). Also it could have been done a lot better. We haven’t seen anything from his home life. I can remember what Spencer was like even when he was dating Silver so I don’t think this would have gone down too well with him.

Overall I would say Naomi’s probably been my favourite character this season. I really liked the friendship with Ivy (unlikely as it is) and I did like the conclusion to the stuff with Mr Cannon. Incidentally I thought it was a really good scene when he had both she and Silver tied up staring into the camcorder falsely confessing Naomi made the whole rape thing up as revenge for him rejecting her. Naomi falling for a geek...hmm...interesting. Again it seems out of character but I did really like the way he rejected her and she genuinely couldn’t understand how he didn’t find her attractive. It also reminded me of the scene where Teddy “came out” and Naomi made a remark along the lines “Now that’s why I didn’t sleep with him”.

I’m so glad Oscar’s gone but they appear to have replaced one annoying character with an even more annoying character. I really can’t stand Emily. She’s an obsessive, manipulative, deranged, pathological liar. I did want her gone at first but have to admit the storyline’s improved since she’s effectively sabotaged Annie’s life so it will be interesting to see what happens next. The way she approached it was extremely cunning and Annie’s fallen from it hook, line and sinker. I found the scene in the cafeteria hilarious when Annie went for her. It was funny enough seeing Annie resort to violence but the best part were the reactions of Naomi, Liam and Silver and how they were all literally taken aback.

Saw the last episode of season 3 just over a month ago and after what I felt was a really good start (and well on its way to becoming the best season out of the lot) turned out to be a huge disappointment. The one saving grace for me was Naomi who I felt was the best character by far and carried the show. If it hadn’t been for her I might have stopped watching.

The main problem was the writing of most of the characters, lack of sufficient storylines and not enough emphasis on life outside school. I thought Adrianna and Annie were OK but everybody else just simply wasn’t good enough. Once Liam and Annie were together I felt they became boring. The storyline with Teddy could have been done a lot better but everyone seemed to be like “so what” and moved on. There didn’t really seem to be any development with Dixon and Navid. The bi-polar storyline with Silver didn’t have the desired effect and I just couldn’t get excited about Ivy and Raj even when they were getting married.

I will say a couple of things though. Max really annoyed me when he rewrote Naomi’s paper. He should have been smart enough to figure out that she would get caught. And when Naomi took the wrap I was surprised when he fessed up in front of everybody whilst delivering his valedictorian speech. Considering that his parents ended up banning him from seeing Naomi I felt that was all in vain. Although it will be interesting to see what happens now that she’s pregnant. I knew Adrianna was going to seriously consider topping herself and whilst I didn’t want her to succeed they could have a least made her jump (maybe not so high) so she could have been hospitalised in a critical condition and they could have left it on a cliffhanger but her simply walking off like that and saying she wanted to be a better person was a bit of a cop out.

I’m not sure what the ratings are like but if they are to improve the show for me I feel they have to seriously consider axing some of the main cast and getting new characters in. I would start with Teddy as I’m not sure how they can improve him. As much as I like Navid, I didn’t see much of him these season and I would understand if they got rid of him. If it wasn’t for the fact that Silver was Kelly’s sister I would say they should get rid of her too which is a shame as her character was so much better in season one. Likewise with Liam I thought his character was at its best during season one but not so good now.

And so series 4 begins.

Silver and Navid are shacked up. Navid's family have left the US, his little sister wants to finish school and moves in with them. Presumably Kelly is OK with this because Silver was still staying with Kelly and living in that extension to her house (I know the actress has left but they could have at least mentioned her). Unsurprisingly Silver hasn't forgiven Adrianna for tampering with her pills and causing a relapse with regards to Silver's bipolar disorder.

Raj looks to have deteriorated quite a bit but presumably it's due to the kemo.

Liam doesn't call Annie for the whole summer then just turns up and expects her to marry him, she turns him down the first time he rocks up to Naomi's' party all suited up, proposes to her again in front of everyone and she rejects him a second time. You had to feel for him but I thought he was extremely naive.

Obviously Annie, Ivy & Raj moving in with Naomi is to keep them all together in the show but seriously how can a "trust fund brat" afford a house like that. It seems as though Naomi's bank account is like a bottomless pit of money - Give me a break. Bit of a cop out the writers making Naomi's pregnancy a false alarm as it would have been interesting to see her cope with a newborn baby but it wouldn't have really worked out with her going college. I felt a bit sorry for her with Max though and hope she reads his letter at some point.

I could understand Annie moving in with Naomi because of the girl thing but why does Dixon feel the need to move out especially when he's going to college in Los Angeles. Surely it would be easier and cheaper to continue living with Debbie.
