Aww, that was a perfect ending, maybe even more so because it's not the type of ending you would expect, if you get what i mean? :P

but really well done, it was an amazing story. congrats :D

Okay, this is the only fic on here that has actually had me in full, running down my cheeks, tears! The ending was so beautiful! I love Aden and Belle together but you just wrote that so well, the whole story was great, the plot unwound brilliantly and it was really intriguing to read! I really enjoyed it! Thank you. :D

That was brilliantly written and a lot of thought went into it. I enjoyed it immensely. I loved how you wrote all the main characters, Geoff's character changed a lot but given the time between now and when the fic is set and given the circumstances of where his character is at that time meant that it was believable. I enjoyed how you wrote the characters as adults dealing with a situation as honestly and intensely as it should be written, Home and Away even has that trouble.

I was a little unsure about how Matilda said she'll be a bridesmaid at the wedding but in an earlier chapter she apologized for not turning up to the wedding as she had too much on. Although not necessarily a mistake if it was written in that she missed the wedding even though she was going to be a bridesmaid maybe you could have added something more to it, like Belle's feelings about her bridesmaid and one of her best friend's not being there.

Why is Vinnie back? Although there was that Patterson-Baker-Patterson joke, I didn't feel that Vinnie being back added anything to the story. I guess you just had it to show that time passes and things happen in that time. I guess it is probably because Vinnie is my favourite character ever and to have his return be small is upsetting. Probably my problem more than it is yours. Perhaps if you added a sub-plot or a conversation between Vinnie and Aden about Vinnie living a double life for a time and relating it to Aden not being true to himself could have made it work.

I did like the ending and how the characters loved each other so much that they will be willing to let each other go is a brilliant way to end things. I loved how you left it up in the air for Aden to return to Geoff, I feel a lot of readers missed the point and it was an ending to Belle and Aden's relationship. It's in the title, they can't go back to what they had and because of this they had to move on. It was a brilliant choice of title too. Not necessarily a brilliant song but it did work well with the story.

All in all, it was a brilliant read. A couple of things to think about in the future but you are a terrific writer and I am looking forward to reading your work in future.

Edit:

I was reading the wrong page it turns out the readers do understand the ending. My mistake guys :P

I've read up to here:

“I wasn’t sure you believed in God anymore,” he muttered, and patted on the pillow next to him, inviting Geoff to lie down next to him, “You haven’t mentioned it once since we got back.”

Geoff lay down, facing Aden.

“My faith has changed a bit over the years,” he admitted, “I don’t know if I’m strong enough in my faith to believe anymore… I just… I believe in God, I just don’t know if I can believe that He really loves me for who I am.”

“I’m sure he does,” Aden whispered, closing his eyes now.

“Why do you care?” Geoff replied, smiling, “You never care about this stuff before?”

“I know how important it is to you,” Aden whispered back, and without opening his eyes he moved closer to Geoff, resting his forehead against Geoff’s chest.

“If it means something to you, I want you to be able to believe.”

“I don’t know if I believe as strongly as I did before,” Geoff whispered to the man, finally drifting off to sleep in his arms, “But my hope is stronger than ever.”

That's a gorgeous scene :)

I feel so sorry for Aden. He's so confused... I'm glad that Belle's not pressuring him to make a choice, but it's also sad that she's not around because he obviously loves her more than anything :( Just maybe not in that way... Poor little mite :(

I shall have to continue reading this later. It's kind of a big fic to read all at once, especially with my crappy attention span when it comes to reading

I finished it!!!!!

It was such a sweet and unexpected ending. I love the idea of them getting divorced in order to keep their promises to love and honour each other, so that they can each have a chance to be happy

I'm not sure what else to say about it. Well sure, I would have loved for it to end with Aden and Geoff making out passionately, to know that everything would be perfect for them forever, but I don't think that would have been quite appropriate :P
