Bit of a short chapter as I didnt have much time to write it. I am away over the weekend so this will be the last update for a couple of days

Chapter 18 – My Hero

“Running water” Aden thought to himself, desperately trying to rack his brains thinking of what Belle meant by that “okay, she said there was trees, so I’m guessing she must be in a forest or something, but where, and why running water”

“Aden” Alf called out “Are you okay, mate”

“Yeah I’m fine” Aden muttered

Alf nodded at him and began to turn away, but Aden grabbed him by the arm

“Alf, you know this place better than anyone, right” Aden asked, a hopeful look in his eyes

“Well, I’m not one to blow my own trumpet, but I certainly know my way around” Alf replied with a smile “why”

“Do you know where there is any running water” Aden asked

“Running water” Alf repeated, “Let me think. The only place I can think of is the old waterfall in Bakers Woods”

“Bakers Woods” Aden repeated, “do you know the way”

“Of course I do, but why do you want to know” Alf asked curiously

“Belle is in danger, I need to get there” Aden replied, getting frustrated

“What” Alf shouted, “Get in the car lad”

Alf and Aden jumped into Alf’s pickup truck and sped off down the road. Aden pulled out his mobile phone and tried to call Belle, but there was no answer. He let out a loud groan in frustration before he tried to call Irene

Irene answered the phone straight away “Hello”

“Irene, its Aden, I think I know where Belle is” Aden said

Belle was sitting down by the large waterfall. She was more than tempted to take a drink from it, but her common sense overruled her. But how much longer could she wait. She wiped away some tears from her eyes as she heard her stomach grumble. Belle then realised the last time she ate was yesterday morning.

“Please hurry Aden, I don’t know how much longer I can do this” Belle muttered

Alf slammed the brakes hard as they pulled up outside Bakers Woods. Aden jumped out of the truck almost as soon as it had stopped and ran as fast as he could into the forest.

Alf called after him but he was already gone

Belle turned her head away from the waterfall to the sound of footsteps. They got louder and louder with every second that passed.

Belle didn’t really have the energy to do anything but the fear running though her body forced her to leap up from her sitting position and run away, as fast as her feet could carry her. She turned her head to look behind her, to see if she was being followed, not noticing the abandoned rabbit hole in front of her

She screamed out in pain as she fell to the ground, clutching her ankle. She tried to stand up but was in too much pain. She couldn’t even put weight on the ankle, let alone stand on it. She cried out in pain and prayed to herself that Aden would find her first before Drew did

I hope it's Aden! Ever even better, both of them so that Aden can just knock the crap outta Drew!
