Chapter 43 – 2 Broken Hearts

“No” Aden said, that was all he could say

“Aden” Justin said, taking a step closer towards his brother, only to be pushed away

“No, what are you doing here Justin” Aden asked angrily

“Belle persuaded me to come back, I came back for you Aden” Justin replied softly

“Spare me the lies Justin, the only reason you came back was to sleep with my girlfriend” Aden spat angrily

“Are you serious” Justin asked, letting out a small chuckle

“Don’t laugh at me,” Aden warned angrily

“Then stop being so stupid Aden” Justin replied

“I’M NOT STUPID” Aden yelled

“You really think that I slept with Belle” Justin laughed

“I said don’t laugh at me” Aden hissed, as his fist made contact with Justin’s jaw

“ADEN” Belle shouted, as she grabbed hold of Aden’s arm, stopping him from doing any more damage

Aden quickly removed his arm from Belle’s grip and stormed out of the house, slamming the door on his way out

“Any more bright ideas Belle” Justin asked, as he raised himself into a sitting position, clutching his cheek tightly

“Shut up Justin” Belle warned him, not in the mood for his sarcasm

Belle was sat on the beach, crying her eyes out. She had been sat like that for a couple of hours at least. Her eyes were stinging at just how much she had been crying, but she couldn’t stop herself

“Belle” Aden spoke softly, as he took a seat beside her on the warm sand

Belle sniffled and wiped away her tears using the sleeve of her jacket. Aden looked at her, and he instantly felt the guilt rush over her body. This was all his fault

He slowly raised his hand to her face to wipe away a stray tear that had rolled down her cheek, only to have his hand batted away

“Don’t Aden” Belle hissed angrily “I’m a skank, remember”

“Belle” Aden replied with a sigh “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, really I didn’t. Please Belle, I’m sorry”

“How could you call me that Aden, after everything we have been through together” Belle replied, as her tears returned to her eyes

“I’m an idiot okay, you’re not a skank Belle, you never have been and never will be, I’m so sorry” Aden said, “Please forgive me, please Belle, I love you”

“You don’t trust me Aden” Belle replied, as the tears started to roll down her cheeks again

“I do” Aden said, before Belle cut him off

“You actually thought that I would sleep with someone else, and then you had the nerve to call me a skank Aden, is that how you really think of me”

“No Belle, I’m an idiot, I’m sorry, how many times do you want me to say sorry” Aden asked

“Maybe sorry won’t fix things Aden” Belle replied coldly

“Don’t say that,” Aden said, before Belle cut him off

“You really hurt me today, and…. and I don’t know if I can forgive you”

“Please Belle, I love you” Aden said, as he placed his hand on top of Belle’s. Aden then used his free hand to lift up Belle’s face, until it was level with his, and planted a sweet kiss on her lips

“I’m sorry Belle” He told her truthfully “Its just, since I found out that Justin left, my head has been a mess, I haven’t been thinking clearly, you have seen me Belle, I haven’t been the same”

Belle just nodded at Aden, indicating for him to continue

“I just over-reacted when I saw that shirt, and I know everything I said to you was hurtful and wrong, and I can only apologise for it Belle. It’s just been so difficult these last few days, and now Justin is back”

Aden broke down in tears as the events of the last few hours of the day had gotten to him. Belle instinctively pulled him into a hug to calm him down.

“I just don’t know what to do Belle, I didn’t mean to hurt you, or upset you. I’m just in such a mess at the moment, I’m so sorry”

“Its okay Aden” Belle said, sympathising with him, remembering how much they had been though together

“Its not Belle, I’m an idiot, you deserve better than me” Aden told her

“Hey, that’s enough” Belle said, looking him directly in the eyes “Yes, you’re an idiot for saying those things, but I know how hard it is for you at the moment, I just wish you would talk to me, rather than reacting like you did earlier”

“I tried to talk about it Belle, but it was just so hard. I just got so stressed about everything and I took it out on you, I’m sorry” Aden told her truthfully

Belle replied by kissing him softly on the lips “I forgive you Aden”

“Really” Aden asked, as Belle wiped away the tears from his eyes

Belle just nodded, as Aden hugged her tightly

“I love you Belle Taylor”

“I love you Aden Jeffries”

Phew! For a second there I thought you were gonna break them up! Thank God you didn't otherwise I would have been mad!

Great chapter though. I can see how and why she forgave him.

Chapter 44 – Brothers Reunited

Aden and Belle were just sat on the beach, cuddled up to each other. They had been there like that for about an hour, since Aden had finally opened up to Belle about his brother

The argument they had earlier was forgotten, it was in the past, where it belonged

“Hey, what time is it” Belle asked, raising her head off his chest to get a full look at his face

“Its..” Aden paused as he pulled his wrist away from Belle and glanced at his wristwatch “its 4.30”

“What” Belle exclaimed as she stood up from her seated position “we had better get back”

“Do we have too” Aden groaned, as Belle grabbed his hand and pulled him to his feet, albeit with a struggle

“Come on Aden, your brother is back, don’t let it end this way” Belle pleaded with him

“Fine” Aden agreed, as he grabbed Belle’s hand and lead her away from the beach and up to the Beach House

Aden and Belle entered the Beach House and saw Justin sitting on the sofa, holding a packet of frozen peas to his cheek. As soon as the door shut, he turned his head to see who it was

“Aden” Justin spoke softly, as he jumped up off the sofa and headed over towards the couple

“I’m sorry for hitting you” Aden replied truthfully

“Forget about it mate, I deserved it” Justin said, knowing that Aden didn’t really mean to hurt him

There was a small silence between the 2 brothers, as they just looked at each other. They haven’t been this close since Justin told Aden about being on the run, and before than the last time they were this close was when they were kids

Flashback

Justin and Sean were waiting outside the school gates as a happy child, only about 6 years old, raced towards them.

“SEAN, JUSTIN” The child yelled happily

“Hey mate, ready to go home,” Justin asked, as Aden nodded

Justin held one of Aden’s hands, and Sean held the other, as they lead Aden away from the school gates and back home

“Where’s daddy” Aden asked, as they turned away from the main road and headed towards the park

“He is drinking again” Sean spat angrily

“Sean, come on, not in front of the kid” Justin warned, as Sean just shook his head in disgust

“Whatever” Sean replied “Hey Aden mate, why don’t you go and play on the swings”

Aden smiled at his 2 brothers before racing off towards the swings

“What are we going to do Justin? We can’t take him home, seeing dad like that will kill him” Sean warned

“I know Sean, I know” Justin replied, as they both glanced over towards Aden, who was happily playing on the swings

That was the day everything went wrong, that was the day Justin ran away from home. A few days later, Sean followed him after a huge argument with his father. This left Aden on his own, defenceless and scared. He had no idea of what would happen to him over the coming weeks, the coming months, the coming years. What things that his sick grandfather would do to him, and there was no way Aden could stop him, no one to talk to, and no one to help him

End flashback

The silence remained, and it didn’t look like it was going to go away, until Justin spoke up

“Aden, I know I have let you down in the past, and I can’t erase that, but I’m here for you know, if you want me to stay that is”

“Justin” Aden whispered, unable to stop the tears as he leant forward and hugged his brother

“Shhh” Justin tried to calm Aden down “its okay mate, I’m here now”

“Please don’t leave again,” Aden pleaded

“I’m not going anywhere” Justin replied truthfully “I know I haven’t been much of a brother to you, but I want to make it up to you”

“Its okay Justin, I understand why you had to leave” Aden said, as he wiped away his tears and pulled away from the hug

“Its not okay Aden, I left you alone in that house with that monster. I didn’t look after you, I promised mum I would but I couldn’t” Justin said, the tears filling his own eyes now

“It wasn’t your fault” Aden whispered softly

“He did it me, I should have stopped him before he did it you” Justin cried

“Its not your fault” Aden repeated, as he hugged Justin again

“Mum would be so proud of you Aden” Justin whispered
