Eli Posted January 14, 2009 Report Posted January 14, 2009 Question: are there any UKers here who have completed (or for some reason started, but not completed) a BSc Psychology or something similar? I'm considering it, but I'm a bit worried because some people claim that it's a really tough degree with A LOT of heavy material to get through. Is it true or is it managable?

Symphony Posted January 15, 2009 Report Posted January 15, 2009 Well, I went to Cork Institute of Technology School of Music for four years, and graduated in November with a Bachelor of Music degree When I go back to Ireland in September, I'm fingers crossed that I got a place on the FETAC Level 5 course in St Johns College. It's a one year course, and the outline covers the following; Animal Anatomy and Physiology Animal Welfare Communications Work experience Animal Behaviour Animal Housing (Kennel Craft) Business Calculations Word Processing Animal Grooming Veterinary Nursing Then, after that one year, I have the option to do a second year and specialise in either Veterinary Nursing [to become a fullblown Vet Nurse] or dog grooming - and I intend to do the dog grooming option If I don't get into that course [first round is in April; I'll still be living in Australia then!] then I'm thinking of going to UCC to a Digital Media degree

I'm hoping to do a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood Studies) at ECU ( which is in Perth, where i live) How different is Uni compared to year 12? - as in the workload?

leah1234 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 i'm only in third year in secondary school in irealnd (which i think is about year 9/10 in oz) i am doing my junior cert this year and my mocks are in two weeks i am totally freaking everyone said it doesn't even matter after but i'm panicing then i've got the dreaded leaving cert in 3 years AAAAHHHH ( that's the hsc in oz) bttb is my major problem i just keep logging on and checking for updates aarrgghh the pressures of school!!!!!!
