Ohhh I just read through all of this - I love the way you've taken some of the scenes from the actual H&A and incorporated them but in a totally different manner - great job with that!

Chapter 16

“Hey where are you going?” Aden asked as he saw Belle and Mattie walk quickly past the door of his room.

“Fresh meat!” Was Mattie’s quick reply as she continued towards the common room.

“What?” He asked as he caught up to them wrapping an arm around Belles shoulder, “Hey.” He whispered to her giving her a light squeeze.

Mattie rolled her eyes as her two friends smiled sappily at each other and made a note to ask Drew and Lucas to lock them in a room together or something so she wouldn’t have to look at it anymore.

“She means there’s a new girl.” Belle explained a smile on her lips as Aden kept his arm wrapped gently around her shoulder.

“So then why exactly are you two so excited?” he asked. “In fact why is everybody so excited?” He finished spying the crowd forming outside the common room. “Why is everybody just standing there?” He asked.

“Well it would be rude to go in now wouldn’t it!” Mattie replied.

Rolling his eyes Aden looked at the girls. “Oh of course!” He responded sarcastically. “Belle you can’t be serious about just standing around staring at the poor girl. Remember when that was me?” He asked.

“I don’t know that was a whole two months ago…” she responded jokingly before noticing his serious expression.

“Yeah but you were different.” Mattie told him. “Belle liked you.” Before turning to look at Belle.

“What?” Belle asked defensively. “He’s pretty.”

“Okay first I'm not pretty babe I'm hot and manly. And secondly it doesn’t matter; you guys need to stop the weird staring thing.”

“Its part of the Summer Bay clinic experience.” Drew butted in as he joined the group having heard their previous conversation.

“Yeah well it’s a sh*tty part.”

“Oh my god,” Mattie exclaimed suddenly, “would you stop complaining?”

Glaring at the short blonde as she stormed off probably to find Ric, Aden turned to leave, he opened his mouth hoping to convince Belle to go with him when he noticed a familiar face making its way through the crowd from the common room and it stopped him in his tracks.

“Roman?” Aden called. “No one told me you were here.”

“Aden I was just coming to find you.” He told the teen. “I wanted to tell you before but the doctors thought it would hinder your recovery.”

His arm tightened slightly around Belle and she turned to watch his face worry etched into it as she saw the tension in his jaw.

“Maybe we could go somewhere and talk?” Roman proposed hopefully, his eyes darting to the group of nearby teens who were staring intently into the room he had just left.

“Don’t mind them.” Aden said dismissively. “Just tell me what’s going on.”

“Its Nicole, Aden Elliot he attacked her.” Roman explained carefully. “It was pretty bad.”

Aden stepped back his arm having dropped from Belles shoulder at the mention of Nicole. “What do you mean he attacked her? Is she okay?” He demanded.

“Physically yes but Aden...” He was cut off before he could finish.

“You have to take me to see her.” Aden said his tone angry. “When did this happen Roman? You should have told me.”

“Aden calm down.” Belle urged him, she didn’t know who Nicole is but she was worried about Aden’s reaction.

“Don’t tell me to calm down.” He replied harshly without looking at her. She stepped away from him but stayed close realising he was distressed. “Roman come on I need to see her.”

“That’s what I'm trying to tell you,” Roman attempted again. “She’s here; she hasn’t spoken since it happened.” He explained. “I ran out of ideas with how to deal with her.” Roman finished.

“Deal with her?” Aden demanded. “She loved that jerk Roman, no wonder she isn’t okay. She doesn’t need to be dealt with she needs help.”

“I'm her dad Aden of course I know that. I just can’t help her no matter what I do.” Roman explained his voice pleading with the younger teen to understand. “I just want her to feel better, her eyes they’re so dead.”

Aden’s face fell as he listened to his foster dads’ words. He turned and moved to the crowd pushing through them and into the common room.

“God would you all just get a life!” He shouted angrily as he turned back to the crowd “Stop staring and get out of here.”

Belle watched through the dispersing crowd as Aden stepped forward moving around the couch. She watched as he sat beside the blond girl sitting there and gently almost as if dealing with a china doll wrapped his arm around her. The girl melted into his embrace and it was obvious that this was not the first time they had sat like this.

With that realisation Belle turned, her legs suddenly unsteady, and walked back to her room. But not before roman noticed the unshed tears glistening in her brown eyes.

I dunno why, but I thought that it would be Nicole [probs because she's the only one in Summer Bay who should be in there ]

Poor Belle at the end. I hope Aden can talk to her and let her know that Nicole's like a sister to him!

Poor Roman too! And of course, poor Nic!

Loved the beginning. Esp Belle calling Aden 'pretty'. That was just adorable!

Chapter 17

Aden sat down beside the stoic form of his best friend wrapping an arm around her, he felt her melt into his embrace and his heart restricted as he felt a sob wrack through her slim body.

Nicole and him had been best friends for awhile, after he had moved in with Roman they had been forced to get along and soon found common ground with there parental issues, while both loved Roman Aden had obvious problems with his father and Nicole suffered abandonment issues relating to her flake of a mother. This soon grew into a strong friendship. But this wasn’t the girl he new when he first came here; she was broken, her bright eyes dulled and the hair she coveted nowhere near as shiny and healthy as how she liked to keep it, and she had definitely lost a lot of weight.

“Hey,” he spoke softly. “I'm here, Nic I'm so sorry I wasn’t there to save you. But I'm here now, please just talk to me.”

But she didn’t and he didn’t really mind as long as he was there for her now and she knew it. So he sat there and listened to her sob as tears silently ran down his face.

“Belle?” Mattie asked as she knocked on the door to her room. “What are you doing in here?” She said as she and the boys entered the brunette’s room. “Were you crying?”

“No!” Belle retorted angrily. “I wasn’t.”

“Okay…” Ric broke in. “somebody got out of the wrong side of Aden’s bed today.” He turned to the two boys behind him who where sniggering at his comment high fiving them.

“I swear to god if you boys wanna keep those hands then shut the hell up.” Belle replied swiping angrily at her eyes.

“You know maybe you guys should leave.” Mattie proposed as she went to sit with her upset friend. But they didn’t move the worry on her face reflected on theirs as they looked at their upset friend.

“Belle what’s wrong?” Mattie asked gently. “Is this about Aden?”

“What he do?” Drew and Ric demanded at the same time but were stopped from asking anymore questions by the look Mattie threw at them.

“No this has nothing to do with him!” She answered feebly.

“Hey tell us what happened.”

“We can bash him is you want?” Ric asked at the same time.

“Ric that’s the opposite of helpful,” Mattie told him. “And also not very productive for your anger issues.”

“Oh yeah, thanks babe.”

They were interrupted by Belles sudden laughter and everybody in the room turned to look at her, her laughter continued until she was forced to drag air into her lungs.

“There’s a good chance she’s completely lost it!” Drew stage whispered to Lucas.

“I don’t like people,” Belle exclaimed when she caught her breath. “But I like him, I was nice to him, I made you guys stop staring I made everybody stop staring. Does he know how hard that was; you guys are pretty damn hard-headed when you put your minds to it.” She stopped there to draw another breath. “And now there’s a girl, and I kissed him and told him everything, but she has blonde hair and I heard axel say she was hot and he was holding her in that way where you know they’ve been that way before. And I just don’t want to be here.”

“Hey,” Mattie Cooed. “slow down. They’re probably just friends, he likes you Belle, like really likes you. It’s actually really annoying the way he looks at you all mushy. And seriously axel has no taste so there’s no way she’s as pretty as he said.”

“Yeah I saw her!” Drew exclaimed. “You’re totally hotter. She’s way to… ah blond.” He finished hoping he helped but merely received a glare from Mattie.

“Yeah drew’s right.” Mattie told her. “Sort of.” she added quickly grimacing as the words left her mouth, they felt foreign to her. “I know you never thought you’d hear me say those words but its true and I'm pretty sure if it came to it you could take the b*tch down.” Mattie went to continue but paused when she noticed her friend’s mouths hanging wide open. “What?”

“I think that’s the first time in all the time I’ve known you that I’ve heard you use any kind of bad language.” Belle answered at her friend’s confused look. “Though thanks I think.”

“Look,” Lucas broke the silence that had engulfed the room since Mattie’s unexpected comment his tone angry and exasperated. “Belle, evidently they’re friends. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like you it just means he likes her too, you need to learn to share and grow the hell up because from what I saw of her she could really do with a friend. No one would deny you us, so what right do you have to deny her him?” Shocked silence fell as the blonde boy exploded suddenly as his upset friend.

“Lucas.” Mattie burst out. “How could you say that? That’s not fair; you’re making Belle out to be some selfish jealous bitch. She has a right to be upset.”

“Okay!” Belle broke in. “First Mattie stop cursing its weirding me out. And second maybe Lucas is right I'm being ridiculous. She obviously needs him. I won’t stand in the way.”

YAY i'm the first to read the new update I so didn't know that it was going to be Nicole though [only just read that chatper now!]

Love the way this is going; especially that Luc stood up for Aden / Nicole, that was good of him!
