Jamey-Maria Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Sorry to bypass your question Jenlee, but all my books have been out on loan to different people for the last 2 months now so I can't flick to find out the answer. Speaking of the director change though- it really makes no difference. Rosenberg is still writing it, the only change will be that the movie won't look like crap with s****y camera angles and editing. I really hated that about the twilight movie. The article says more Edward AND Bella AND the other characters. No need to call people losers for having favourites and wanting more of them. A new director would probably suit New Moon anyway, give the story a different feel because really the majority of the book is about Jacob's transformation. And all the Italy stuff is a lot darker than anything in Twilight.
teeann_x Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 I'm a bit shocked at the moment. Catherine Hardwicke is not directing New Moon It has been confirmed by Summit. To be honest, I'm worried. Worried that they'll get everything wrong because some losers want their precious Rob to have more scenes What's so shocking about that? To be honest, I don't really like Catherine Hardwicke, she's like 'I had a great time filming this because Rob and Kristen have amazing chemistry' which is 100% true but she just makes me I think they can find a *great* director. And, Catherine's an Edward fan so she would probably want to pitch him in here and there just for the sake of it. Plus, Rob really cares about NM, he's said several times he really hopes they stick to the book for NM because his re-entrance can be really amazing. He's not an actor who wants to hog the light. There are plenty of directors for Summit to choose from and it always happens in series anyway. A new director brings a different perspective to the characters.
haylzee Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 ^^^ what?? rob said that on something (cant remember what) that he hopes they dont actually change it to have edward in more scenes... he doesnt think that fans will like it. (something like that anyway) new moon is my least favourite book but they can't just go changing it. we should start a petition to stop them adding scenes.
Barbara Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 Thanks for those Cerise, I haven't managed to find the energy to sift through ff.net looking for the good ones lol Thanks Kat. Like jenlee, I didn't want to go through all those fics to find the good ones. I didn't know where to start.
Cerise Posted December 9, 2008 Report Posted December 9, 2008 I hate to double post but...random question about Eclipse that I think a certain someone *coughcerisecough* may be able to answer for me off the top of her head In chapter 2, page 39, Alice has a vision and Edward later (page 50) tells Bella that she saw Jasper returning to his old family. Can anyone tell me what Alice really saw and on what page we find out? Randon, I know, but it's really bugging me but it's late and I need to go to bed so can't search through the whole book to find it lol We don't get told what she saw, Edward literally just says she has that vision. Unfortunatly. I wanted to know more detail about what she saw, but oh wells.

I'm not talking about the general fans who wants more Edward time, because they don't like Jacob. That's perfectly fine by me. To be honest I'm not the biggest Jacob fan, but I still enjoyed New Moon and I want the film to be close to the book. That's why I don't like people who don't like/care about Twilight who's only watching it because Rob's in it, and then demand more screentime for Rob. That annoys me and that's why I referred to them as losers. Maybe not the best word to use, but done is done. I'm only human and I sometimes get a bit carried away and call people stuff that I shouldn't. I'm a bit like Kristen, you may say What's so shocking about that? To be honest, I don't really like Catherine Hardwicke, she's like 'I had a great time filming this because Rob and Kristen have amazing chemistry' which is 100% true but she just makes me I think they can find a *great* director. It's not that they've chosen to let her go, it's the timing. Why announce it now, while she's promoting Twilight? It just seems a bit strange and rather unnecessary, IMO Why couldn't they just wait for the dust to settle a bit?

It doesn't say anything definite but on page 80-86 it has Jacob at the school and Belle realises that Alice actually saw Victoria come back for her and that's why Edward took her away to Florida and kept the true vision from her
teeann_x Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 ^^^ what?? rob said that on something (cant remember what) that he hopes they dont actually change it to have edward in more scenes... he doesnt think that fans will like it. (something like that anyway) Yeah, that's what I said, or meant. Lol. Sorry I haven't actually read NM yet (but i bought it just today wooo) so I just assumed that by sticking to what's in the book, it doesn't change things, ie. add more Edward in. Isn't it? Because the book doesn't have much Edward in it. Rob says he really hopes they don't put him in just for the sake of it because the fans of the book would go nuts if they changed anything. And he really hopes they don't either cuz that would ruin the story, that's why I said his re-entrance could be really amazing if they don't change things. It's not that they've chosen to let her go, it's the timing. Why announce it now, while she's promoting Twilight? It just seems a bit strange and rather unnecessary, IMO Why couldn't they just wait for the dust to settle a bit? Yeah. Because they want to shoot NM and Eclipse ASAP to make money. Everything is about the timing. New moon here I come!!!! Edward leaving is gonna make me cry so I'll see how much I like it.
Cal Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 I only want two scenes in New Moon to be perfect. One is the Jessica/Bella in Port Angeles scene. It's my favorite part of the book, when Bella starts to walk over to the guys who she thought followed her in Twilight. It's such an important part of the book because you think she's about to move on from Edward... and then she hears his voice telling her to stop. It's really nice. And the other is when Bella jumps off the cliff, and she wants to drown, and then she gets saved by Jacob... and then she sees the "flames" in the water... but it's Victoria's hair.
jenlee Posted December 10, 2008 Report Posted December 10, 2008 I want the scene where Edward tells Bella that he doesn't want her anymore to be just like it was in the book. I read somewhere else about someone elses concern that they are going to give it away by showing him leave and being upset about it. The book is in Bella's POV and she really thinks Edward doesn't want her anymore and I think they should keep it like that in the film instead of showing something that you are not supposed to find out about until the end. Just have him leave as if he really doesn't want her...I don't know if what I am saying makes sense lol. EDIT: For spolier tags just in case
