Oh dear. Sorry. But it would :P Its legs look like elongated golf tees or whatever they're called, all plasticy, eugh, its big alien-esque sack doesn't help either. Disgraceful creature. I wouldn't have judged it on its looks, but its eating a poor birdie, that thing EATING something.......(shudder)

I wonder what it looks like when its on walls, with its legs all spread out, it looks huge there....... but its crouching

Why must I always go into horrible detail?

Apparently, that speciman is big enough to cover an A4 sheet of paper with its legs spread... big enough to wrap halfway around your face :o Even its general appearance with its freaky looking body and long spindly legs is the stuff of nightmares. Definately not something you'd ever want to encounter...

One dude on another forum who actually lives in Cairns said "Oh yeah, we get those up here". Apparently, they are common in the jungles of northern Australia.

It's not that creepy. It's usually the smaller spiders that are poisonous to us anyway, not ones that size. Now I'd be perfectly fine coming across that, (again as long as I had a shot gun at the ready just incase it flew at me) because you'd be able to see it coming, you'd be able to keep an eye on it, but the small ones.. they disappear... you can lose those ones and then BAM! they've just bitten you! That one you'd see coming at you. So I could live being near that one.

Although yes, it's does look like it doesn't look in mirrors very often, but I've seen scarier looking people walking around the streets.

that's gonna give me nightmares!

"It wouldn't eat the whole bird," he said.

 yeah, that makes me feel heaps better,

"it didn't eat your whole arm..."

well at least you'd have half your arm left

^^LMAO. I don't think that's as reassuring as it could be. :P

Urgh, a spider crawled through our hall before. A small one. But I still freaked. Now I don't know where it is. Mum said it went downstairs.

speaking of small venomous spiders, I saw about 6 Redbacks hanging around my pool last night, plus a whole assortment of other spiders, ants, BIG moths and beetles and these weird little wasp things. Oh boy summer is going to be fun

I want one of those; dead, framed and hung on my wall above my bed. But I'd die of fright if it fell face-down on top of me in my sleep, or worse, fell out of its case. o_O

Pretty/scary, that's the only way I can describe that elegant not-so-little monster.
