{Breast Cancer BBQ Lunch}

Chapter 10

It was half pass eleven when everybody started arriving with plates of all sorts of goodies, cakes, brownies, biscuits, gingerbread men and muffins. Belle and Aden came together while Annie, Geoff and Irene travelled together. Belle hadn’t been feeling her best for the past couple of weeks, today she felt lightheaded and her vision was blurry. Belle didn’t want to go home and decided to tolerate her sickness and not tell Aden or Irene, that way they wouldn’t worry about her or force her to stay home. The Breast Cancer BBQ was where she wanted to be, supporting a charity whilst spending quality time with her friends and her boyfriend.

“Geoff!” Nicole giggled as they continued tickling and kissing each other. The two of them set up a very “romantic” picnic blanket. Belle and Aden spotted the two and joined them. Belle lied down on a cushion next to Aden; he held her hand and stroked her hand with his fingers.

“Oi, you kids should be getting involved instead of flamin’ sitting on your bums all day!” Alf snapped.

“Yeah, we were just about to see Martha over at the main stage” Belle said quickly. As she got up her vision was fuzzy and she felt weightless.

“Hey you alright?” Aden noticed as Belle stood up she lost balance.

“Yeah of course” Belle smiled covering up her true feelings.

“Jeez, do we have to go now” Nicole complained.

“Come on princess” Aden yelled walking away holding Belle’s hand firmly.

“Well I’m very grateful for you all being here today” Martha stood on the stage.

Belle, Aden, Nicole and Geoff decided to look at all the displays set up around the field. It was lunch time the four separated themselves again from the main crowd.

“Miracle beyond miracle it’s actually edible” Nicole took a bigger big of her hot dog.

“What did you expected Nicole? Of course it’s edible!” belle said furiously.

“I was only joking jeez no need to get all PMS”

Aden gave Nicole a malevolence look.

“What seriously, it was just a joke, you don’t need to take it soo personally” Nicole continued eating her lunch.

“I’m going to the bathroom”

“Belle, are you okay?” But before Belle could respond as she stood up she fainted.

“Hey I got you, help! Somebody help! Belle can you hear me?” Aden screamed as loud as he could.

Irene, Alf and the others rushed over to Belle.

“Oh my goodness Belle love, are you okay?” Irene was shocked.

“Belle can you hear me?” Aden shook her gently.

As Belle traveled to the hospital she could remember blurred lights and high pitched noises. Rachel claimed she was semi-conscious.

“Rachel what’s wrong is she okay?”

Irene analysed her face she could tell something was seriously wrong.
