Yes exactly and when she tries to help him people are saying that she is being manipulative and when she just throws herself into her work then she is seen as working too much

If people hate Rachel lets face it nothing isnt ever going to change their mind , In todays i didn't see her do anything wrong at all. She was considerate ,understanding and supportive.He was asked if he didn't want to go to the ultrasound and he assured her he wanted to be there and when he never went she only asked why he wasnt there because she was worried about him and didnt know where he was , its called caring about someone.

youre both so right, i dn't understand everyones problem with rachel, too many people just see everything about her as negative and i dn't think any of the characters at the moment are that straightforwrad - rachel certainly isn't, shes trying to do the bets she cna in a tough situation

Just something I'm not sure anyone has mentioned about the whole Rachel outing Bridget thing.

I genuinely believe Rachel was going to keep quiet about the whole Bridget being a pathological liar thing but if you watch the episode, you notice that she finally explodes after Alf says that he'll see Bridget when he comes over to visit her. I think Rachel had finally had enough when she thought that Bridget still hadn't ended contact with Alf, when he still thought they had a future together.

I think there was a genuine trigger for it not just 'she'd tried to keep it to herself for long enough'.

If I had started watching home and away recently there is no way I would be standing up for Rachel. She annoys me so much sometimes I want to join the Rachel-hate club. But while I remember my love for Kim and Rachel as a couple I will always defend her, I'm too loyal to them!

^ I mentioned it somewhere on here but didn't explain it as clearly as you haha. I think that is what caused her to blurt it out like that. She didn't realise that Alf was going to follow Bridget and that you like you said proved to her that Bridget hadn't stopped all contact and I think that she just couldn't hold it in any longer. She felt really bad after and apologised and according to Morag was really upset about it. I think she realised she was in the wrong pretty quickly.

I know what you mean about being loyal haha. Sometimes I feel the need to defend her just because I know it's inconsistent with her character but I do try to be as objective as possible. I know she's not perfect and is going to make mistakes and I'll happily point them out when she does. I think one of the problems with Rachel is the writers have caused so much trouble with her and babies (Kim couldn't conceive, then him having a baby with Kit led to her getting desperate for one of her own, then her having a miscarriage with a guy who didn't want the baby then Tony having had a vasectomy that probably wouldn't be successfully reversed) that if she so much as mentions a baby now people think "ugh stop moaning about babies" Haha. Plus she's such a strong female character that sometimes she's a little too headstrong and feisty.

Aww Rachel and Kim. I was devastated when that ended and actually stopped watching for a while!!!

I don't think i need to point out how much i love Rachel, but she annoys me too sometimes. I didn't like her outing Bridget like that and thought her phoning her mum was pretty cruel. And yes she is patronising sometimes and i do wish she'd stop using her 'doctor' voice when she's not at work

But i will never understand why she's seen as being manipulative and self centered etc. I just don't get it. Today she was worried about Tony, that was clear as she'd been trying to call him for 2 hours. She just wants him to talk to her, is that so bad? She told him more than once he didnt have to go to the scan, and at the end of the day that's not why she yelled at him. And he didn't even apologise for saying the baby didn't matter to him, which obviously would have hurt her a lot. She's in a very difficult situation right now and i do feel sorry for her.

Rachel kept it a secret for long enough. She gave Bridget a way out and had no intention of telling Alf or going to the cops. Bridget just choose to delay it as long as possible.

She may have gone about it the wrong way by blurting it out infront of everyone but the lies probably got too much.

As charmed60 said, she felt bad about what she did, thats what kind of person Rachel is. She only tries doing what shes thinks is best. Maybe she should have told Alf sooner but she was sparing him some pain.

Sorry I probably came across wrong. I wasn't blaming Tony at all, I understand why he reacted the way he did. I think it's a difficult situation for both of them and neither of them are at fault here. With ultrasounds though you can't just reschedule them, especially if it's her 12 week one. The foetus has to be checked at certain stages to make sure there aren't problems with its development.

I think it's such a difficult situation in. The best thing for Tony to do is try to look at the positive things in his life and focus on those to help him through and I think that's what Rachel's trying to do for him.

I didn't mean reschedule as in five weeks or anything, just a day or two. I know how important it is, especially now that she's entering her second trimester. I think it'll take time for Tony to start seeing the positive sides of anything. Lucas isn't even there to support him, and he's the closest thing to Jack Tony has.

Ah right sorry hehe. I guess she thought he was ok with the scan being that day seeing as he reassured her twice that he would be there. A couple of extra days probably wouldn't make much difference, he'll still be grieving poor guy. I don't know how you can ever get over losing a child, especially how close to Jack he was. I'll miss their scenes together.

Kirsty I agree with you. Id like to see Rachel drop the doctor voice when she's not at work, it annoys me to and comes across as really patronising. I DID like however that Rachel was the one to be able to on some level understand where Tony's coming from. I don't think anyone else has considered how much Jack's death is reminding him of Kate's (even I didn't) and he's having to relieve the whole thing again.

I would actually like to see Rachel not go to work when she has the baby. Knowing her she will just go back to work in the hospital straight after bub pops out. I'd like to see them have a little family. Maybe a year without doctoring.

Rachel is such a fantastic character and all they do is stick her at the hospital. Even when she is not there she speaks about the hospital. I'm just saying that I think there is much more to Rachel that we haven't seen. It is funny because she has been on the show for three years now and we don't know that much about her personally.
