I'm really enjoying this story , like this tough version of belle it reminds me of her when she first came to summerbay. I really like her and adens relationship; how they're leaning on eachother a little and how she's not really giving him a choice at friendship she's just kinda there. Its great . Cant wait for the next update.

Sorry for the Delay

Chapter ten

Roman watched as the Belle walked away after a brief goodbye, she walked swiftly and didn’t look back, her backpack slung over her right shoulder. Pushing the door open more, he entered the room cautiously. He had seen Aden retreat back into the bathroom and figured he was getting decent.

The room was dark and barely furnished. The curtains closed, making it hard to see the detail of the room. Shutting the door behind him, he walked to the centre of the room; the photo which Belle had flung to the floor earlier at that day was on the floor and caught Roman attention first. Stepping up towards it, he knelt down careful to avoid the glass that was shattered around it. He turned it right side up and brushed away the glass shards.

The image was that of an older man, Roman guessed the grandfather and 3 children, one on his knees, the other two standing beside him. All three of the boys had blonde hair, but the one on the leg had very vivid green eyes. He figured that it was Aden, his eyes the same as that as the boy in the image.

Before he had chance to think any more about the image, he heard a door open behind him, and Aden walked out, fully clothed, hair still wet. His eye immediately went to the image in Romans hand and he gave him a confused look.

“It was on the floor when I got here” Roman explained guessing by his look that It wasn’t like that when he first got here “When I knocked on the door, I think Belle must of dropped it or something. I heard a smash

“Oh ok..” Aden said taking the image from his hands, losing interest when he saw it was the picture he had taken with his grandfather. He had always hated the picture, his dad put it up and he hated it. He slung it down on the sofa before returning his gaze back to Roman

“So...??” He asked wondering what he was doing here

“Uh yeh. I came to talk to your dad” He said cautious to the fact Aden would be agitated he had done so.

“Aden simply rolled his eyes and waited for him to continue. He wasn’t going to spark a conversation he didn’t want to have.

“Have you and your dad sorted things out then?” Roman asked jumping to this conclusion because Aden was back at his hour

“No” He said sighing

“I just came back to have a shower” He explained, noting the confused look on Romans face “Belle just tagged along”

“So where are you staying” He asked softly

“The beach” He said embarrassed that he hadn’t yet found any where to live.

“Well my offer is still up for grabs” He said worried about how he would react.

“I don’t need chari”

“I know, I know” Roman interrupted “It’s not charity. Just until you find some where to stay. Someone to talk to...”

He let it lingered on the last sentence trying to make eye contact with him.

Aden stood there for a moment, staring at the floor, aware of his suggestion to talk. He didn’t want to talk, but he did want somewhere to stay.

“Fine” Aden said looking up “But just for tonight”

“Great!” Roman said cheerfully “You got all your stuff?” He asked

“Yeh” Aden said indicating the bag behind Roman.

Roman picked the bag up and interrupted Aden before he could argue with Roman taking his bag.

--

“Ok mate, there food in the cupboard and I’ll be back later. Sorry, I didn’t think I was working today” Roman explained, keys in hand, body halfway out the door

“Ok” Aden said sitting on the sofa, eyes not moving from the television.

Roman smiled at him, although he didn’t see. It was good to see him just being normal. No drama, no tension, just Aden being a teenager. He said good bye and left the house, shutting the door behind him.

Aden watched as the car lights disappeared into the darkness, letting himself stare out into it for a moment.

Sighing, he thought back to Belle, her sleeping in the dark, alone and cold. He felt bad about him being able to have somewhere to sleep and her not. Sighing, he switched the TV of, put on his shoes and left the house.

--

Heading down the beach, he turned down into the alcove feeling his way in the darkness.

Crouching down next the sleeping body of Belle, slumped on the floor snoring lightly.

“Belle” He whispered in her ear, shaking her gently.

She groaned, still tired.

“What” She said aggravated about being awoken when it was obviously not time to get up.

“Come on, up ya get” He said lifting her up in the sitting position.

“Why..! I’m tired”

“Yeh yeh I know” Aden said, picking up her bag from the floor, along with the small blanket she had on her

“Oi” She said as the cold overcame her.

Aden helped her stand up, still tired.

“Where are we going?” She asked as Aden began to lead off out of the alcove and up the beach.

“You’ll find out soon enough” He said grinning making Belle groan again, but allowing herself to be lead away up the beach.

Ooooh, is he gonna take her to Roman's?! I hope so! Aden's so sweet in this!

I'm glad that he accepted Roman's offer too!
