Chapter Eleven

Belle looked up at the house as they walked down the driveway, Aden still carrying her bag on his back.

“What is it with you and taking me to loads of different houses” Belle said cheekily, referring to their visit to Aden’s Dads house, only to receive a grin from Aden as they approached the house.

“Wait here” He said, putting his arm out in front of her to stop her going any further. Pushing the door open he stuck his head inside. It was dark, the lights turned off. He called out to see if anyone was there, and when he received no reply, he turned the lights on and ushered her inside.

“So whose house is this?” She asked as they entered, looking around at the paintings on the wall.

“Romans” He explained stated

“Um.. who?”

“The chef” He said letting out a small smile

“Ah I see. And what are we doing here?”

“I’m just staying here a few nights. Thought you might want a bed to sleep in”

“Oooh err” Belle said grinning seductively only to receive a playful whack from Aden.

“I’ll sleep on the floor” Aden explained.

“Ok” Belle through laughter

“This way” He said indicating for her to follow him up the stairs, which she did shyly, looking back to the front room.

Aden opened the room which Roman had said he was sleeping in, embarrassed about the femininity of the room. The quilt covers pink and purple, the same as the curtains. Belle raised eyebrows at the flower patterns on the different pieces of furniture.

“Bit girly isn’t it”

“I’ve been here for about 3 hours, I haven’t had time to decorate just yet” He said laughing.

He placed her bag on the floor as she tried to suppress a yawn but failed

“Still tired?” He asked, the answer obviously.

“Yeh”

“Well Roman should be back soon, so just make sure you stay up here and everything should be fine.”

“Thanks” She said standing awkwardly in the doorway.

Aden slid past her, their shoulders brushing.

“Night” Aden said, gently shutting the door after she shuffled into the room, leaving her to room, hoping she would fall asleep before Roman got home. He did feel bad about inviting her to stay here when he was only a guest himself, but he figured as long as Roman didn’t know, it would be fine.

--

“Hey mate” Roman said entering the room, making Aden jump out of his thoughts as he sat on the sofa, staring blankly at the tv.

“Hi”

“Have you eaten anything?” He asked heading into the kitchen.

“Uhh no..” He said, digging the remote from down the side of the sofa and switching it off.

“Do you want a sandwich or anything”

“Yeh that would be great thanks” He said entering the kitchen and watching silently as Roman made him a sandwich, feel awkward for letting Roman get him his food. Roman passed the finished sandwich to him.

“Thanks” He said taking the plate “I’m just gunna take it to my room. If that’s Ok?” He asked

“Yeh thats fine”

Aden thanked him once more before heading up the stairs towards the bedroom.

Aden knocked on the door gently, unsure if she was asleep. When he got no answer, he pushed the door open and found her curled up on the bed on top of the covers.

He wasn’t sure whether she had eaten and he felt worried she may not have eaten for a long amount of time. And he wasn’t hungry so he felt instead of wasting the sandwich, he gently shook her awake, sitting down next to her in the process.

“If you’ve woke me up in the middle of the night again, I’m gunna give you a dead arm...” She said grumpily, not opening her eyes

“I’ve got food” He bargained as she open her eyes

“Well I guess that clears you” She said sitting up and rubbing her eyes. Aden sat on the bed, passing the plate to her.

Thanks” She said taking a bite, carefully over the plate in order not to get any crumbs on the bed.

Aden pushed his body back so he was leaning on the head board and watched her as she ate.

“Nice?” He asked.

“Lovely” She said smiling.

They sat in silence as she finished her food, before she placed it on the bedside table next to her and lay down on the bed next to Aden, resting her head slightly on his shoulder. Neither of them said anything, not feeling the need or knowing really what to say.

He looked down at her, about to say that they should probably be getting to bed, before realizing she had fallen asleep. He smiled softly at her, moving his arm so it was around her, breathing her in softly. He was thinking about moving away from her, but was worried about waking her up, and he liked the closeness he felt with her body right next to her. Listening to the gently sound of her breathing, he rested onto the pillow and feel into a deep sleep.
