chapter seven

Aden sighed as he felt something small his the side of his head, annoyed with the amount of grief he had gotten from his so called friends throughout the day.

He ignored the gesture to get his attention and returned his gaze to Mr Copeland as he wrote down the homework on the black board, only to then receive a small piece of paper from his right.

He opened it cautious that Mr Copeland could see, and found a small snide remark on in the corner of part of today’s work. Rolling his eyes, he placed it inside his book and ignored the next piece of paper to hit his head.

Looking over to his left, he saw Belle looking into space, not really bothering with what the teacher was saying. Smiling at something she had said earlier, he ripped a small piece of paper from the edge of his book and quickly jotted two words down, folding it in half and righting Belle’s name on the back. He then passed to the person next to him and told here where to pass it. He watched as it passed around the classroom finally reaching its destination.

Belle looked at the person who had passed it her here, confused before glancing to her side to see who is had came from, her eyes eventually setting on Aden who was smiling softly at her. She looked back down at the note and opened it slowly, and looked at the content of it

S – u – p – e – r – f – i – c – i – a - l

G - e - n - u - i - n – e

She looked at it confused about what I meant, before thinking back to what he had said earlier and her sarcastic remark.

“Most people here are fake. There superficial and pretend to be something they aren’t in order to make everyone love them. Your genuine. You don’t care what people think. And anyway, your really nice”

Belle pondered on this for a moment before letting out giggle

“Big words for you. Can you spell them?” She asked sarcastically

She let out a small giggle at the indication to their previous conversations but when she looked up, she found Mr Copeland Looking straight at her, an annoyed look on his face.

“Something funny?” He asked as she tried to hide the note without him noticing.

“No sir” She replied.

“Give it to me. Now” Have seen her hide it in her book. He took it off her and read what it said.

“What is it sir?” Axel asked from the back of the room, wanting to get either her or Aden into trouble

“I’m not sure...” He replied confused what the note was about. “And who gave it to you?” He asked

“Uh.. It was just on the desk..” She lied determined not to get Aden into trouble.

Rolling his eyes he ripped it up and placed it into the bin before continuing with the lesson.

“Eyes to the front of the class Mrs Taylor” Miles said as Belle turned around and smiled at Aden. She turned back, smiled at him cheekily, before picking up her pen and pretending to listen
