KirstyEkua Posted January 23, 2010 Report Posted January 23, 2010 Despite the weather i think the UK is a pretty beautiful country (especially Scotland ). I love cities that have a lot of history and old buildings, it adds character and as much as i love New York, it's all a bit new One of the most beautiful places on earth has to be South Africa. I did an overland tour and we drove the Garden Route which was just breathtaking. The sunsets are incredible and Cape Town is a stunning city. I've found all of the African countries i've been too beautiful. The vibrant colours, the sunsets, the wildlife, the lush plantations, the national parks, deserted palm lines beaches, the inspiring friendly people - i'm in love with it.
Ashleigh <3 Lincoln Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 -IN REPLY TO JESS- Yum!! I would put on a bit of weight if I moved to Italy.. haha I reckon it would be amazing to see it fall down, to touch it, to throw a snowball, make a snow angel and to build snow men Then come inside for some hot chocolate around the fireplace and maybe even some roasted marshmellows Ohh! The Schools shut! How awesome!!! Haha. Of course. Woah you would?! It gets extremly hot over here, though gimme a hot surfer by Bondi beach anyday Hehe Do you plan on visiting Australia? (Like for a holiday) <3
xxJaniexx Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Im just back from New York, and i have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life so far, i just completely fell in love with the way of life Oh and the department stores aren't bad either

(Like for a holiday) <3 Haha, I've put on so much weight - it's really not cool. I tend to go for the high protein/low-carb approach at home, but with pasta being so cheap and meat so expensive here, it's failing. Drastically. And you can tell. It looks really pretty, I'll give you that. But when it's, like, -10°C outside all you want to do is hibernate! Yeah, this is my problem... I was born a ginger (although my hair's darkened with age), and so I'm extremely freckly and pale-skinned. Even with total sunblock, my skin burns. I'm not sure that Australia and I would really get on too well...! I'd love to visit, though - it seems like an amazing place. My friend took a gap year there last year - so jealous! It's just so far away from everywhere else, though... I mean, it's not even that close to New Zealand, given that I can get to France/Spain/Italy within a couple of hours. The whole concept of long flights is completely foreign to me!
Cal Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Jess, are you in Italy for your Erasmus? I have my Erasmus in third year and I'll be spending it in France. I hope it's going well for you, it must be hard taking lectures and exams in Italian!

Cal Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Yush, I'm here for Erasmus. Haha, me? Take exams? You must be joking...! You're one of the lucky Erasmus who don't have to take exams! Our college requires that we take exams during that year. Really not looking forward to it...
Ashleigh <3 Lincoln Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 Hehe Yum pasta! I dont blame you, I would fail at it too. I mean who could resist.. Italian food! But you have to have the starter and dessert's along with the main course I cannot imagine frezzing temperatures. I whine when its just 6°C, you must be shivering! I went up to QLD in our winter and the clothing I wore was singlet tops and shorts that was in our winter. Stay nice and warm rugged up around the fireplace, with your beanies, scarf and gloves on! -Now I wanna do that- Ohhhh. Yeah, that may not be the best combination Yeah, I get what you mean. Me and Long flights = Very annoyed plane passangers. I went on a four and a half flight to Fiji In October. I was going crazy.. after a bit not even movies or music could entertain me. But I suppose the L.O.N.G flight is worth it when your going to an amzing place such as the UK or Italy! Though the flight home would be torture Yeah, we are about 3hours away from New Zealand... Just stuck in the middle of the ocean all alone. <3
