grumble bum Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 You moan about ot being hot try being in the uk at minus -6 degrees I think you fingers would fall off, you dont know how lucky you are. I used to live in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains. It can get down to that temperature in the winter. Actually we hit the 40 degree mark. Been good today. Haven't eaten anything that is bad for me.
Mrs Bishop Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Sorry GB if you thought I was getting at you but even in the summer were lucky if we get any temprechers near the 25-26 mark.
Miranda Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 I don't know which is worse, being too hot or too cold The annoying thing in England is that even though we have cold, dark winters, there is never any guarantee of warm, bright summers. We can go through the whole year with miserable weather and only the odd week of sun. Which is really frustrating. A few months of nice hot sunny weather would chase the blues away and cheer everyone up: things really don't seem so bad in the sun. Ideally I'd like a climate with four proper seasons: cold snowy winters, bright springs with birds warbling, warm, lazy summers and chilly red leafed autumns full of woodsmoke. These days they all merge into one. I only wore summer clothes for a few weeks last year
Mrs Bishop Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Have to agree with you Miranda andm if we do get some sun it may last for a few days but then it gets too warm and the weather men start moaning that we need rain we cant win.
grumble bum Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 It is actually alot cooler today.Very strong winds. Actually i don't mind the cooler weather. It is easier to keep warm in the winter then it is to keep cool in the summer. I also miss the snow. Back home in Katoomba it use to snow in the winter. I miss that
Mrs Bishop Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 Try Lining in the Uk for a while you will wish you were back in Australia.
Miranda Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Ooh, its all dark and full of cobwebs in here. I shall brush them away Started my learning support course, although we haven't done anything yet as it was only the first lesson of ice breakers and induction info. The teacher emphasized that we are the experts, she is just helping us get a qualification in work we already do, and its only for 13 weeks, so it should be okay. I'm also looking into writing articles for magazines, so hopefully I will be able to get into that and do something interesting. How are all the mature [?] posters today?
Mrs Bishop Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Glad to here your into your corse now Miranda hope that it all goes well for you and you get out of it what you want, try and prove you know your stuff.
