Whoa!... where did you resurrect this thread from Barbara!? :P

I sometimes watch the Duggars show on Discovery Home and Health and they seem to thrive on big events and having people over! They have another family to stay sometimes called the Bates - http://www.lotsofbates.com/index.html - and they everything seems to go perfectly... infact, a little too perfectly!

Their 19th child was born just before Christmas but is still in hospital as she was born at 25 weeks. I wonder if this will make them think twice about having anymore.

Wow , imagine the stretch marks

I don't know how anybody can cope with so many children, theres 8 children in my family and even that sometimes feels like too much. I don't think having so many children so close together is very fair on the children to be honest. Giving birth almost every year and having so many children to divide your attention to means that the children most likely won't get all the attention and love they deserve. I'm sure they are all very well loved and taken care of but I just don't think the attention can be shared equally. Then again the more children there are then the more attention they get from each other which sort of counteracts the thought of not being payed enough attention by the parents. But its not really the same is it.

Just found out that my grandmother is one of 18! To be honest I would really love to be in a family with that many children. I already love being one of 8 and think its so much fun having so many siblings coz theres never ever a dull moment so imagine being in a family of 18 kids!! I don't imagine you would ever have a moments peace AT ALL :P

^ Although I can see why having a big family could be fun, I like having some privacy and some peace and quiet every now and then and like you, I think that would be pretty difficult when there are so many people living under the same roof. But that's just my opinion. :)

 There was a documentary about 'unusual' families on a French channel the other night. At the start of the show, they said there would be a segment on the Duggars and their 19 kids. I didn't watch it until the end so I didn't see that segment but I was surprised to hear there was a 19th kid now. :P

I didn't even know they had a TV show. I'll have to see if I have the channel you're talking about to check it out. I also wonder if they're still thinking about having other kids because this could be dangerous for the baby but for the mother as well.
