Merli Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 You meant that Turkey was too ordinary, I guess? Yeah, I agree. Oh, and did Spain got right to final ? Spain doesn't have to go to semi finals, does it?
superman's girlfriend Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Spain was the same as other years. Romania was good In 2008 France was a total hit! my favourites was as mentiont before : Norway ( ), Denmark, UK , Iceland and Aserbadjan. i didnt really like any of the other songs. so if i could choose Turkey and Denmark would swop places, then i would be a lucky girl Turkey was just a normalwoman standing there moving her ass while she's singing a half-decent song with hardly any clothes on. and its to many of them lately.Okay and all the rest were abnormal then Turkey was a bit same genre as Aserbadjan a bit Arabic from listening a few times i think i'll go with Turkey. Sorry, i understand thats how it could sound, but that not what i ment i ment that the song and performance reminded me of so many other Eurovision songs, and that i didnt really think it was something amazing about that song. Asebadjan and Turkey was in the same genre i agree. but for some reason aserbadjan's song made me really happy I know what you meant
Miranda Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 I enjoyed this last night for once, partly because GRaham Norton was jollier than Terry Wogan and partly because what I saw of the voting was fairer than previous years. I liked the Ukraine entry with the men dressed as silver Centurions and the woman in red cavorting on those massive drainpipes. If only the Ukraine national costume was like that...
Homeandaway_fan1 Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 I feel a little better today, after last night failure. But it is fine I didnt expect a top 5 place or top 10, I thought we would place somewhere between 12-15th place or something, but it is okey, and hopefully we do better next year. And maybe Arash comeptes for Sweden next year as he said yesterday he wants to compete for Sweden next year or something. But I am still waiting for Helena Paparizou to comepete for Sweden.
Emsan Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Sweden placed fourth in their Semi, didn't seem like that in the final hahah. Well anyway I loved Norway's song and Iceland's. I was so happy when Norway finished first and Iceland second. Oh and Azerbaijan third, the guy who sang lives in Sweden.
Traceve Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 I would have liked to have seen Iceland take it out instead of Norway.. but I don't live in Europe therefore can't vote. I just watch it on TV every year I think my favourites were Iceland, Sweden, Switcherland (didn't make it to the final ), Turkey and UK.
halcyon06 Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 I didn't bother watching this year since Ireland weren't in it! They had a pretty good song this year, well, compared to others that got through to the final! I think this show is a joke no- no one voted for talent, they all just vote for their neighbours. Poor Ireland dont have a chance!

Poor Ireland dont have a chance! Yep, that's probably why they've won 7 times. More than any other country.
Abi Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 There weren't many songs that I liked this year, but Norway was one of them. I really like the song, and was really happy that they won. I also liked Azerbaijan, Denmark and of course the UK. I know that I thought a faster song would do better, however I have really warmed to 'My Time' and they really did deserve to come 5th... in fact they should of done even better, but I guess coming 5th is good considering that we haven't done too well in past years.
devon Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 I thought Sweden were gonna win, but they finished well down the rankings in the end.
