Inactive User Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Thanks for the update, Chris J I agree it's really frustrating that the forum keeps crashing down all the time! You and the admins all had done such a great job on this forum. Quote

Jezz Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 This forum is still very slow well it is for me It's been slow for about two weeks now for everyone. Chris and Dan are doing everything to get to the bottom of the current problem. 1 Quote
Dan F Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Yes it's been discussed a fair bit in the BTTB.net updates thread, though I've now moved the posts into here as not so many people seem to read that thread. I spoke to Chris last week and he's still trying his hardest to sort something out. Unfortunately it's a bit of a Catch 22 with the forum often timing out when he starts going through various procedures to try and fix it. The size of the database, with 10 years of posts, is obviously a factor in that, so even moving to a new host would still involve having to back up that database first. Again the hosts have denied any problems at their end, and we certainly haven't changed anything this end (nor has there been any increase in traffic to cause it), so everyone's a bit puzzled. We'll keep you posted on the situation if there are any further developments, but again thanks for your continued patience! 4 Quote
