Just to confirm, the boatshed is definitely the same one. However for the 2003 one they actually built another shed in the space to the left of the existing one, presumably so they could later show it burnt out.

It isn't easy to show with the absence of a wide exterior shot, but you can compare this shot from the site:

With these two - you can see the corner of the house next door behind Alf and the metal canopy/flagpole - and a glimpse of the original building behind Josh

I shall add the additional info to that page at a later date

That's very interesting, thanks! I'd always thought it was an entirely different place, maybe because the lack of an upstairs in Scott's boatshed just confirmed for me that it wasn't Michael's. How strange that it was built right next to the original. Rob must have been busy indoors during those 2003 scenes!

Rob was mentioned in 1999 IIRC (I think I watched it when I found a link to AsiaPacific, who were showing episodes from 1999. Unfortunately buffering and the fact that I had couldn't record, and could only watch it when I was free at 4pm, meant I only caught a handful of episodes).

Sydney has a light rail system which is what you saw passing - it was filmed in Chinatown (as Derrick mentioned) in Kimber Lane, opposite the Paddy's Markets building which you can see in the background.

Yep, I recognised it in fact as we stayed in the Holiday Inn there last year. I called my husband in to watch as we were so excited to see somewhere so familar on screen. We were also on Palm Beach but the novelty of seeing that on screen has worn off now

This location has now been added to the site

Edit: And it's genuinely a complete coincidence that it's been added exactly a year to the day since we were discussing it....

Thanks so much for adding the Chinatown location - it's so familar to me, having spent the Sydney leg of our honeymoon at the Holiday Inn Darling Harbour. Feeling very nostalgic now.

I know this is pointless but I just wanted to throw it out there that I am still holding onto hope and word from way back in late 2009 that a Summer Bay House replica and/or caravan park will be rebuilt! I'm sure we would have heard something if that idea had progressed into a reality but for now it seems like out of sight, out of mind! :(

...Unless the money they saved by not filming car chases and explosions went towards Georgie Parkers wage packet instead :P

Hahahaha I have been thinking this last 6 months there have been no natural disasters or major crime scenes with explosions, fires or epic events... I decided Channel 7 must have pulled strings tighter on the special effects budget and that's why we're stuck with the basic romance and crime storylines... had not crossed my mind all the money went into Georgie Parker's contract. lol

Today we have begun publishing of a number of Early Years locations on the main site, which will continue over the coming weeks.

Thanks to QA of course for heading out to take the pictures once we'd spent a long time tracking them down!

First up is one of the houses which proved rather difficult for us due to the lack of scenes filmed there - The Stewart House.

On a related note, it's actually 9 years today since the bushfires destroyed 'Summer Bay House' at Kenthurst.
