I actually don't like Indi's character that much when she isn't with Romeo. I just find her bland when she's by herself. Lets face it though- if they weren't together who has she got? She hasn't really got any proper friends in the bay anymore male or female. Romeos the only male she's ever been close too, she has no female friends left in the bay now Nics gone, and although she's made her peace with Ruby they're hardly friends. She's a bit ostracised from the rest of the teen group owing to them being at school whilst she is at uni I think. The writers don't tend to give her many scenes with them. Romeos the only other teen not in school so I think they need each other really. Without him she would literally only have Sid and Dex.

Her character has seemed a bit annoying since they returned from Hawaii I think. She's been very childish since they got back and I don't know why. I couldn't blame it on Romeo though as he seems to be the person who wants to talk some sense into her. Initially I thought perhaps she was subconsciously paranoid about Romeo being faithful because in her eyes Sid and Dex have both done the dirty recently, thus as far as she is concerned every male she trusts in her life has done so in the last 6 months. I don't think this is the case now though as they seem fine together so I really can't understand where her attitude is coming from.

I found Indi annoying from when she got back with Romeo, it seemed barely a week and indeed barely an episode with her in went by without her making a childish "I love Romeo and everything he's done wrong isn't his fault!" speech. Then it kind of reached its nadir with the whole wedding storyline, where the way she just brushed aside all Sid and Roo's points about how they were rushed into it and hadn't thought about what they'd do after they were married, letting herself be talked into a rather foolhardy wedding by a couple of cheesy lines from Romeo, was extremely immature.

I agree that there aren't many other people for Indi to hang out with:It's a shame Nicole's gone because their friendship did bring out a decent side of Indi and so did Ruby at the start of the year so it's a shame the writers seem determined to focus on romantic relationships rather than rebuild their friendship properly. As I mentioned elsewhere, they'd have been better off introducing some uni age characters rather than flooding the 17/18-year-old age group and turning Romeo into some sort of self-employed Del Boy who's practically in a group on his own, maybe then they'd be able to do something more interesting with Indigo.

I think Indi's perhaps missing being with her family more than she lets on. I don't think she likes change very much- she said it herself after her initial reaction to the Walkers adopting George. I daresay it's dawned on her how much life will change for her now she's married as she only really saw it from a romantic viewpoint at the time. Now the realities are hitting I think she's realised perhaps she wasn't ready to leave her family unit and she misses the stability she had. Now she finds herself worrying about bills, etc and I suspect she isn't really ready for it all- something she really should have thought about before getting married like you said Red! I didn't personally find her annoying when they got back together- it all kicked off after Hawaii for me. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they ended up living back at the farm to appease her. Roo won't be there for much longer I don't think and I'm sure so it will be too empty with just Sid and Dex anyway so I suspect it may happen.

To be honest with you it feels a bit like the writers decided to assassinate Romeos character at the start of the year, and now they're getting him back on track they're going for Indi's instead!

I remember noting at the end of last year that the show seemed to have an aversion to having Romeo and Indigo behave like reasonable human beings at the same time.We had to sit through months of Romeo being hung up on Annie and treating Indi badly as a result and once that was over Indi seemed to spend the rest of the year panicking about Annie or her past boyfriend or Romeo going off to uni and meeting someone else and generally being a pain, after which Romeo grabbed the idiot ball back off her and decided to solve all their problems by failing his exams. It looks like the writers are keeping up that tradition.

The 'Idiot Ball'- that's a good way of putting it actually!

I won't get drawn into Romeo as this is Indi's thread but I will say that I hadn't really noticed them taking turns at being idiots until this year. When you put it like that though I see what you mean- I hadn't really thought of Romeo being hung up on Annie as unreasonable at the time- given his age and the fact I think she was meant to be the first girl he'd really fallen for (though don't quote me on that). In hindsight I see what you mean though- that's teen angst for you I guess. The exams where a stupid move and the catalyst for most of the other bad decisions that followed really.

Back to Indi, I really do think how she's acting now is rooted to all the change in her life at the moment and she's just taking it out on Roo. Getting married has changed everything for her and I think she's just realised what a big commitment she's made and it scares her. Hopefully if I'm correct she will speak to Romeo about her worries rather than failing to communicate which is what usually happens when they have a problem. Once she's sorted out her feelings she will be able to sort things out with Roo and hopefully go back to behaving reasonably (then hopefully Romeo will do the same for at least a month too).
