Regarding the maybe getting with April situation; I think they work awesomely as friends, in a complementary way. Moving to a relationship, particularly while April is with Xavier could be diabolical to the friendship, not to mention Dex as a person. I just can't see Dex getting with someone while they have a boyfriend. He wouldn't cheat -- he's seen it happen to Indi and his parents, so he just wouldn't do it. So the only way I see Dex and April getting together is April realising she likes Dex and dumping Xavier, and they only just got back together, so it's kind of stupid to do that in the first place.

Sadly, looking at the latest spoilers,

it sounds like Dexter tells April how he feels and they kiss and then the following week April breaks up with Xavier so she and Dexter can get together

.Which...isn't good.

Called it. Dex likes boys, and is doing anything in his power to not think about the fact that he can't stare at Casey/Xavier/Romeo (take your pick) without getting butterflies. So he pretends to date girls, and convinces himself that he has a crush on April. I'm not calling his feeling for April fake, because to him they are real, it's just that it's all a front. Dex has never really had any friends -- so when someone shows him a scrap of attention that doesn't involve calling him names or pointing out how odd/weird he is, he takes it and latches on. It's a crush. What Dex confessed, however intentional of not, is something bigger.

So, excuse me. I'm just going to go and complete my Dex/Casey fanfic, with the knowledge that I'm not making all this up in my head.

Actually, I kinda hoped something would happen between him and Summer after that moment between them at the party but they seem to have shot that one down in flames.

Dex is clearly gay, I dont know why but I personally dont like the idea of him being gay. To me he doesnt come across like that but if he is, then I will support the show for going down that road if they do.

I think he could be gay, but as I said to you Zetti, it would be braver and less stereotyped if they had quite a macho male character who was gay, rather than an intellectual, geeky type like Dex. Not criticising Dex of course, I love him and all geeks generally

Isn't Chris in Neighbours quite macho? that is, plays sports and is also generally popular and not isolated.

Chris is a macho character, kind of why I like him and I never expected him to be gay so when he came out, was a massive shock to me but yes Miranda as I said as well, I think personally Casey is gay. Dex is quirky and different (in a good way) & I love the character but just because he is different doesnt mean he is gay if that makes sense to anyone. I dont want the show to make Dex gay but then again I dont want him with April mainly because it makes him look bad because he is mates with Xavier and then starts dating April 5 seconds after she dumps Xavier. If he is gay, then why is the show pushing the Dex/April coupling? I dont know, if it happens, I will reserve judgement till then but at the moment, I would rather Dex be single and who he is instead of putting him in a relationship with either gender.
