Formerly Known as FKAJ Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I'm 20, and I do plan to have kids, but not until I'm in a committed relationship, if not necessarily married. This may be a long way off, given the recent state of my love life. My favourite names, for boys, would be Ben, Jacob, Matthew, Alex or David. For girls, Holly, Tess, Kate, Zoe, or Kelly.
suzannelgnz Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I'm 20 and I don't intend to have children at all. I definitely want to get married, but having children is not high on a list of things I want to do in my life time.
Traceve Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I'm 19, a month off of 20. I've never really wanted kids, even when I was a little girl playing 'house'! I have no desire at all to carry a child of my own. The past 5 years or so I've wanted to adopt a child, preferably one that's 7+, an older child. But for that to happen I have to be in a relationship with someone of the opposite sex, so there goes that!
emmasi Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 No, but I might foster or adopt an older kid (7 to 12ish - someone who I can talk to but who isn't in the "I want to kill all authority figures " stage yet) if I ever find myself in a stable situation. I have no desire to bring another child into the world when there are already millions who could use a parent. ^lol, I didn't read your adoption specs before writing mine. Great minds! Hopefully by the time you're ready for kids, the laws will take equality into account. You might be allowed to foster anyway. If Irene can do it on her own, I don't see why you cant do it with a "house mate"
~Lynd~ Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 You're allowed to foster if you're single.I'm was in foster care and had a single lady at one point. I should say that while it doesn't bother me if i ever have kids of my own or not,i would like to foster or adopt if i'm ever in a position to.So many kids need it.
Dotti Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 I have nothing against children. But to be honest the pain does scare me Oh and those dirty nappies haha! But that said..I don't think I will have kids just because the world is already populated enough and plus there are plenty of kids out there in need of a good home. I think that adpotion is a good idea. You see all these children on the TV ads (World Vision) they are losing their mothers, brothers, sisters, fathers each day, maybe adpoting those kids would be an idea? I really don't know to be honest either way, I'm happy Isabella seems to be a really popular name at the moment, but I too like this name (That said, I'd love a girl! lol)
Georgia Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I'm still a bit too young to think about having kids, because my mum would kill be when I got pregnant, but I have always imagined myself with kids. However, given the state of the world today, I'm thinking about adopting a child, probably from a third world country.
Amby Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 I'm only 18 next month but I'd like kids when I'm a bit older - wouldn't leave it too long, maybe around 26/27. I'd like 3 or 4 - at least 1 girl lol. I love the name Juliet for a girl and Oscar for a boy:)
xxJaniexx Posted September 21, 2009 Report Posted September 21, 2009 Well im 20 but i still feel a bit young right now to have kids, although my boyfriend and i have discussed it, we feel its a good bit away yet
claire_louise Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 This is an interesting topic. I'm 23 and I've always been unsure about it. I love children but I'm unsure whether I'd be a good parent or not. Pregnancy doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, particularly as I've had a lot of health problems throughout my life so the idea of putting that much strain on my body willingly isn't something I relish. But I'm of the mind that if it's the right thing for me, it will happen. Adoption is also something I would consider, but I'm not 100% in agreement with foreign adoption so it would definitely be a child from my own country if possible.
